The next season of GSTL will be in... what... 3 months? Let's see if Liquid can even keep the current roster in Korea until then if one or two foreigners decide to leave and go back to their home countries. IMO, until you have a proper coach present and a team with at least 8-9 permanent players who really practice hard, I don't think you will ever make it far in GSTL. Liquid should seriously consider looking into a cooperation with another team again.

Liquid should consider changing their lineup by removing uselss players and getting someone who is actually skilled.

Was hoping for a better result than this, hopefully some good practice in Korea gets some of these foreign TL guys in better form. I'm glad that Liquid participated, but I expected them to have better results.... keep fighting boys.

Liquid won NASTL and was highest finishing foreigner team in IPL with losing twice 4-5 to korean teams. do you honestly think any other foreign team would have done better necessarily? So unless you are advocating that TL should become a purely korean team...

Liquid + idk.. Prime? I sort of like that liquid is fighting things out on their own, it makes for an interesting sort of storyline you know. Either way this wasn't the worst they could have done and I really think it will be a learning experience for the team.

Team bonding from this is a neat experience for the players, not so much the viewers. I think next season will show better results.
I do agree though, they need a bigger roster. I'm sure they will give us at least another person to cheer for before the next.

Seems like in the end it comes down to foreigners needing to practise as much as the koreans... ... again.
If Liquid partners with another team it should be Fnatic. The only way we would possibly get to see foreigners.

MC) to partner with them for the next season. Then things would look much better in GSTL. A coach -- possibly even fluent in Korean -- to be there, analyze, and cheer them on would also be a good thing. That or partner with a Korean team again.

Highest finishing foreigner team (with only foreigners playing) was Mouz, 2nd place. NASTL? 3-2 vs mouz in the final. KR team vs non KR team.
You missed my point, current foreign TL lineup is terrible (except Sheth and Ret) and it ain't gonna change.

You are wrong. We won't even see a foreigner come out at all if they do a partnership. Want to know why?
Fnatic: Alive,Oz,Byul TL : Zenio,Hero,Taeja
Now you know. Technically,it will be Koreans vs Koreans although TL and Fnatic is a foreign team.

They don't necessarily have to do better results wise, but it would help if their players actually showed up in Korea (preferably a few weeks before the matches), if Nazgul and Bumblebee showed up instead of talking over Skype (lol), if they didn't stream for days before the first match, if they didn't play showmatches in between the two GSTL matchdays, even if they skipped Code A qualifiers if they weren't ready for ZeNEX. It's like 10-15 days of their lives/careers, if they can't even give that much actively practicing 12 hours a day only for GSTL, a team with a much worse lineup could have done better if they committed to it.
THEN they can get all-killed twice, I don't care, losing happens and it's perfectly natural.
They're playing in the most prestigious team league in the world, and the only one that even matters. It's probably the most significant event in their careers so far (except maybe for HerO), and it certainly was for the team. It's like getting a chance to play in Proleague and blowing it by not even taking it seriously on top of being the underdog.

Those would be great pickups, the friendship between oGs and TL would likely make that work. Though I do believe TL is respecting and cheering for oGs to be able to start over. If that looks grim down the road, I'd easily buy into them picking at least one of them up. Add TheWind as coach and have a happy time. I don't want to see them regress and have to partner with anyone, even if it is just MC.

For whatever reason TL has decided to hire mediocre foreigners (Ret is the exception) and excellent Koreans. It's a shame that TL has not done more in order to develop promising young players in the foreign scene, but it is what it is. +1 The problem with ret is, that everyone says that he is not practicing that much. And imo he would be the underdog against every Code A/S player in a tournament.
every TL team member made sense at the time they were picked up, but unfortunately very few of them have fulfilled their potential and developed into really solid, competitive players. I don't understand how Nony for instance is still on the team, but then I have zero insight into how the team is managed or what their goals are.. but this GSTL showing did more harm than good, in my opinion

Well it will be 3 months later, still kinda long, but of course, the earlier a decision is made is the better. Players will have chance to practice and assess each other.
I personally think Liquid should get more skilled players who can live at the team house, not another "words play trying to hide their slumps" players. Not being offensive here, but sometimes you need to learn the "hard truth".
Oh, comparing NASTL which is online against GSTL, that's irrelevant.
For partnership.., how about TLPrime?... Silly me.
Peace.

They should go full Naniwa and not stream or such when they are preparing for something of this magnitude.

You need to know TL's goals before criticizing their performance. If winning and being fully competitive is their top priority, then yeah they're doing fairly poor and should reconsider many things. Now if they just want to keep the foreigners because thy're relatively close to their fanbase and are good fellas, it's ok. Anyway, sending this line-up in gstl was a suicide mission.

I honestly don't think that Team Liquid even intended to do well in the GSTL though. They don't seem to be about fantastic results. In fact, foreign teams in general seem to be more about building up the persona, fanbase, and marketability of players rather than breeding top level skill. I'm not criticising this, it's a much easier model for foreign teams and it seems to give them decent results.
