Yes of course they could, but today, Tassadar did it, so he is the mvp today. He is still quite bad imo lol What makes him bad? Well, i really don't like his style. Bad isn't the right word though, i just don't like how he never plays macro game... Always gimmicky play or allin. But that's a subjective preference from me I usually don't prefer that either. But bad play I mean, just watch MKP he never plays macro either yet none would consider his play bad. Perhaps gimmicky is the right word instead, as you said! :D wtf marineking plays plentyyy of macro. haha i know right? tons of greedy macro games. for a long time he was doing 1 rax FE every matchup and he can hold off most early pressures designed to punish it, so he gets away with it haha

He played both standard and add in a few gimmicks. He is a versatile player. Player that only play macro games all the time * cough Idra cough * are easy to read. And players that only all-in all the time are easy to dislike. That is subjective. Did you even see him all-in in ALL OF THOSE GAMES? He played macro against Zenio,Taeja and Jinro though he attempted a void ray all-in but failed and instead transition into a phoenix build to macro games. He used to be an all-in player but now not so much.He played well today.
I was talking about old matches and I didn't see today matches, so maybe I will in the future take a closer look at his play to see if it has changed

He does really well in Korean Weekly tournaments and stuff like that that's quite stacked. He's not like BitByBit that just all-ins and is too terrible to do anything else, Tassadar is the god of 2base.
Have you been following the Korean scene at all?

Uhhh not really HerO is a korean unless you considered Hero a foreigner =.= The foreigner reputation in the GSTL is in shambles after the poor display of TLO,Jinro,Haypro.

TLO played ok but jinro was really bad both games he played

Who would have thought they manage to compete on their own in korea 2 years ago! Next time with all their players and maybe 1 or 2 new players they will do better! Yeah, I'm always happy to see TL competing, even if they lose. I don't care I think it'd be cool if TL started a rookie program to get a wider/deeper roster; maybe have some tournies in each region to find new potential. I dunno if currently it could be afforded, but it'd be nice to see it happen.
That would be a cool idea, but considering the last 3 players they bought were all well-known koreans, I think that's not their politics

When was the last time Jinro won a set?
I still remember this.
|
TL needed Ret and Sheth instead of Haypro and TLO, a Jinro that finally stops sticking to a dead metagame and Taeja in full form. A shame most of this wasn't physically possible, but in any case the team got exposure, a team bonding experience and korean training.
Nazgul did the right choice.

Tassadar has been mixing his style up lately, and qualified/went surprisingly deep in many preliminaries in the past weeks.

not the best performance but TSL lost last season 1-5 and 2-5 as well (vs NSH and IM). Better luck next try.

How does this could make it worse ? I mean everyone knows than only top top top foreign players ( think Sephano-caliber, and as much as I love them, neither TLO, Jinro nor Haypro are part from them) may be expected to win against most code A/S Koreans. Nothing new here.
The only good news here is that TL lost before I went ahead and bought a season ticket
Better luck/prep next time, keep it up !!

Yep that's true, but I think TLO is improving, he almost qualified for Code A, that would have been great to see a foreigner qualify without being seeded

Uhhh all the foreigner did not won a single game in the GSTL and got roflstomped by Life and Tassadar who are not even the top top top top Korean players.?(MC,DRG,MVP,MKP,etc)

It's painful to watch Jinro playing... ;(

Judging the foreign scene on players who are mid-level in the EU/NA scene doesn't really make sense. For whatever reason TL has decided to hire mediocre foreigners (Ret is the exception) and excellent Koreans. It's a shame that TL has not done more in order to develop promising young players in the foreign scene, but it is what it is.

nshoseo got all killed last season too

Luckily Team Liquid has some Koreans in their roster, so they can atleast win some games/tournaments for them.
|
I still do think TLO has the level for GSTL. But well, wp NHS.

+1
The problem with ret is, that everyone says that he is not practicing that much. And imo he would be the underdog against every Code A/S player in a tournament.
