True, but usually it's all about those protoss players there.

After the Terran clumped his Vikings directly over Archons and Stalkers and then got himself jammed into a choke point against mass colossi? He got outplayed and out-controllled. Simple as that. I fail to see what control Puzzle showed there, and what was Sting supposed to do, my friend? You can't really expect him to kite with his bio and kite with the vikings at the same time compared to what puzzle had to do, right? ![]() His control was better than Sting's because he didn't have his Colossi standing on top of the Marines and didn't have his Archons at the back; which is basically the Protoss equivalent of what Sting was doing. And what was Sting supposed to do? Well not derping his entire Viking force directly over Archons, attack from the side or something, and not standing in a choke point would be a good start. I'm pretty sure even I could manage that and I'm a Gold scrub. I have eyes, kid. And a working brain. If sitting Vikings on top of Archons is seriously "pro terran play" nowadays then no wonder people keep dying to Protoss. Here's a tip: don't do it and you won't lose them all instantly. If you have a working brain you should be able to understand. It's the GSL and he has 3 games on the stage, his nice showings are online, he's still KR masters and you're not, etc. etc. T had to in a split second determine whether he wanted to 1) focus fire colossi and die or 2) spread vikings and die, since T was so far behind anyways. Moving on. I wasn't talking about his specific decisions in that engagement because he lost the battle as soon as he picked up the gauntlet in that choke point. Simple as that. His Vikings were poorly positioned (having to fly right over Archons to attack the Colossi) and his bio was wedged in place all nicely packed for the thermal lances. You're quite right he had a split second to make that decision, but he'd lost before he made that decision, that decision was largely irrelevant because he'd messed up something more fundamental way before that. That was a fight he could not win, because he was set up all wrong for it. To give an example: if my Colossi are out in front of my army, my zealots trapped at the back behind stalkers and then I get attacked in a choke by stimmed bio then I didn't die from a minor micro error. I died because I screwed up in preparing for the engagement, being positioned all wrong before it began. Regardless this entire discussion is irrelevant, wasn't even intending to get into a debate about that game in particular or micro in general. My point is I'm staggered by the horrendous mindset of Terrans who cannot accept that Terran pros can screw up. It's mind-blowing that EVERY SINGLE PvT that Protoss wins is somehow proof of Protoss being OP and that the Protoss pro-gamers who ever win a game are somehow being carried by their race. Because clearly it's not balanced until Terran has their 60+% winrate back. Honestly some people. *facepalm*

Maps that are really hard to defend 200 max roaches on are really bad, because they force the Protoss into gimicky play. This map is interesting, however, as 3rd and natural base design make it hard for Protoss to defend the roaches. At the same time, however, the long rush distance and the fact that you kinda have to wrap around the map make it a bit easier. Yeah I liked this map because though it's not a super-easy-to-defend third, it's definitely defensible as just shown. I mean, 6 months - 1 year ago this exact same map might have led to gimmicky play. Protoss players have definitely grown overall, they're definitely more secure in defence into lategame than they used to be. Still a struggle against some 200 max roach timings though, but there aren't many good maps that defending that is easy. People were discussing the 200 roach max + OL drop being near impossible to defend, yet that map looked easier to defend roach max drops than most others. So I guess, you win some you lose some? Maps with different outcomes are nice. People used to hate on crossfire for it's 2 base plays, but it made for exciting games. Sure, imbalanced and what not, but the idea of easy 2 base harder 3rd hasn't lost it's appeal to me as a viewer. Just that most of the maps that did this had other issues.

From TL article: For the players not currently living in Korea, can we hope for them to make an appearance if circumstances work out for them to travel there? Victor GoossensBoth Sheth and Ret occasionally express a desire to go to Korea for training, so I could definitely see something being possible in the future. These things are so much about planning and timing that it is hard to say something right now.

You think you'd need 9 players in this format but okay I guess it's okay to give teams an advantage by having a more concentrated lineup.

He didn't like being in a crammed team-house. The TL house should be reasonable since theres currently TLO, Jinro, HerO, HayprO, SuperNoVa, and HuK (well he's in the US right now)
