To all the complaints at MLG I'd say that I don't think flying in koreans and spending all your money on that is cool because I'd rather see these foreign tournies support the foreign scene but I understand why they make the decision to bring in the Koreans and thus the viewership. All of you whining about what you paid and that MLG is greedy that is just silly, I don't think these tournaments make that good of money and it's awesome that they're willing to take the risk to support esports.

I can't be certain, but i think that foreigners bring more viewers than koreans (with the exception of some of course (Read: GSL))

It's simply that the foreigners are the players the general public want to see! Although many of them are not better, they are more in the spotlight, more popular, and more relatable.

So i don't think flying in Koreans add that much to the viewer count!

I agree I"m very surprised there aren't a couple more foreign tournaments that don't overload on the korean invites...I feel like the foreign scene could really use it as well as some more smaller localized tournies.

I'm going to list what I think is the order of viewer attraction, assuming equal skill.

1) Foreigners playing against (and beating) Koreans.
2) Foreigners playing against foreigners.
3) Koreans playing against Koreans.

However, because the skill gap is so great, KvK ends up being the most exciting, bar some odd breakouts from Stephano, Thorzain or Naniwa.

That is tricky.
I'll tell you why. People want to see foreigners beat the koreans, they want upsets, underdogs and great stories.More people want to see the foreigners but they don't want to see foreigners fighting foreigners. So koreans bring more viewers to the competition even if indirectly.

Well, having just had a code S with bad games from the quarterfinals and forward, until the final, I think it's fair to say that the most efficient play may not be the most fun to watch..

Killing the southern planetary while thorzain is in the middle to deny the cannons, Socke is playing superb! Really happy to see him putting up such a good fight!
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.
