I refuse to acknowledge someone royal roading after failing repeatedly in Code A. Just doesn't seem right. Should be you advance Code A in one season and then win Code S imo. I agree. My definition of royal road would be that you start code b and win code s in one go. If you've been in code a/s already it isnt a royal road. For the same reason Naniwa wouldnt be royal roading if he wins code S this season.

I 'unno, I still see a lot of storylines out there. Yeah, MKP was one of the bigger ones, but you still got Naniwa, MVP's last stand with his wrists falling apart at the seems, the potential of a Liquid vs. Liquid semifinal, and maybe even Maru, not only usurping MarineKing, but becoming the youngest champion by a mile and being the first Royal Roader. Also you have Parting vs. MC in their back-and-forth feud for the Protoss presidency.

don't worry it does not apply to the GSL anyway.
still you asked so, its something is a part of the OSL, a player who comes out of the prelims to win the OSL in his first attempt.
the last person to walk the royal road was Lee Jae Dong....

I love my race but I would hate to see a PvP final...

Taeja was simply mentally stronger and played better.
No, the momentum was in Taeja's favor after dominating theSTC, whereas MKP had gone from 1 game away to advancing to the ro8 over one of his recent rivals into being a bo3 away from dropping to code A. Who do you think would have the better mentality, regardless of player?

Edit: Okay it's winning on your first appearance. Didn't Hero get his shit rocked several times in Code A though?

Naniwa - foreigner hope, showing he is not a dick to koreans Mvp - return of the true king, now with sick TvP Parting - now with no zergs left, can he show more of the best PvT in the world? can he back up his big mouth (said he would win last season)? SuperNova - the "designated" Code S November champion, will he show us new and innovative strategies and silence the doubters as well as beat fionn predictions? Hero - now with no PvZ left, can he battle his way through hordes of T's and P's and show SNova that he is the oGs-TL Ace? + TL and Bisu/Jaedong secret love child bonus Taeja - should have won the GSL "years ago", showed some most promising play in all matchups(innovation, control, strategy, multitask)
then possibly: MC - show he is the best p, finally another p champ (same for parting) squirtle: same as taeja - innovation + more Cinderella lately, step out of the shadow of parting, oz: not just a coach-player kinda guy, show he is clutch maru: little kid i dont care much about, still an interesting story
then all the rivalries between players, only some of which i mentioned
imagine MC vs Mvp finals Nani vs anyone (beating mvp again) PvP finals / P winning again new TvP strategies (taeja, snova counting on you) youngest gsl champ/finalist
soo many storylines

Taeja was simply mentally stronger and played better. Not to mention that Taeja was facing the very player that he lost to, which makes it worse for him IMO. Glad to see that he kept a level head, though. He did that against Jjakji in RO32 too, props to the guy. Still bitter about MKP though T_T.

Taeja was simply mentally stronger and played better. Just because Taeja deserved to win because of his superior mental fortitude does not mean that MKP was playing at top capacity. He's HIGHLY erratic and can get thrown off his game very easily, as shown by today's group, among others.
This isn't saying that Taeja didn't deserve to win. It's saying that MKP is his own worst enemy, which we already know.

To win the title the first time you enter the tournament.
But some people are saying it should be reserved for broodwar OSLs only. No opinion one way or the other just a phrase to me.

Just realized... there's a possibility of all PvTs for the rest of this GSL.

Really? MKP is known for his TvP and Parting is known for his PvT, and Parting wrecked MKP today.

What was your point again? Taeja would be on tilt too after having to play the best TvPer in the world bullshit, its not about the better player its about who is playing better during the match. Right, and I'm saying MKP would of been the one that would of played better if Taeja was the one that got crushed by Parting instead. Stop assuming that Taeja and MKP have the exact same mentalities. -_- Right, even if Taeja doesn't go on tilt after losing to Parting, then they would both be even, and we saw what happened in the first series when they are even mindset. I'm not saying the better player of the last series didn't win, Taeja played better there and he deserved it, I'm just saying the better player overall didn't get through the group.
Thats such a silly logic. Those who win the decisive matches go through. There are so many hidden online ladder heros who may be better that most of the Code S player. Mkp was the worse player and is out.
