I don't think it was the prime cause of MKP's collapse but I do think being tired and somewhat jetlagged after his NY trip may have been part of the reason why he fell apart quite so quickly.

Doubt it. MLG is a lot of money to pass up for such a small time commitment.

Naniwa better win this GSL now, it's the only storyline I give a shit about anymore.

there are so many storylines

Naniwa - foreigner hope, showing he is not a dick to koreans
Mvp - return of the true king, now with sick TvP
Parting - now with no zergs left, can he show more of the best PvT in the world? can he back up his big mouth (said he would win last season)?
SuperNova - the "designated" Code S November champion, will he show us new and innovative strategies and silence the doubters as well as beat fionn predictions?
Hero - now with no PvZ left, can he battle his way through hordes of T's and P's and show SNova that he is the oGs-TL Ace? + TL and Bisu/Jaedong secret love child bonus
Taeja - should have won the GSL "years ago", showed some most promising play in all matchups(innovation, control, strategy, multitask)

then possibly: MC - show he is the best p, finally another p champ (same for parting)
squirtle: same as taeja - innovation + more Cinderella lately, step out of the shadow of parting,
oz: not just a coach-player kinda guy, show he is clutch
maru: little kid i dont care much about, still an interesting story

then all the rivalries between players, only some of which i mentioned

imagine
MC vs Mvp finals
Nani vs anyone (beating mvp again)
PvP finals / P winning again
new TvP strategies (taeja, snova counting on you)
youngest gsl champ/finalist

soo many storylines

I would just be happy if a Protoss won.

Blizz is with you on this one

There is 4 players i'm excited about, and thats NaNiwa, Mvp, Oz and SuperNoVa.

One thing that I think hurts alot this tournament is no zergs..

I think a lot of people agree, any match involving a zerg is always a lot of fun.

And I'm not a big fan of protoss in general.. watching their games feels a bit "meh" most of the time.

lets go maru!!!!

Let's go Maru for second place, and we'll have 4 PvT's in the Ro8

A perfect world for me would be Squirtle winning group D with Maru taking the second spot.

Are you trolling or is that sarcasm, cuz I can't tell. MLG is 5k, and that's IF you win, definitely not worth risking your chances at the most prestige tournament in the world.

5k is pretty good for a 3 day accelerated tourney though, and don't forget the flight and seed in MLG Championships. If you know you have a good shot at the gold, MLG is definitely worth it. It is a shame that GSL and MLG aren't partnered together anymore though, could possibly have less rigorous schedules for those flying back and forth.

Anyone summarize for me how parting's games went?

Game 1: Parting redefines stalker micro with an 2 nexus 4 gate pressure manages to push back MMM siege tank with just stalkers and manages to get 25 scv kills. MKP tries to counter but fails and then goes allin with scvs vs Archons. Parting Wins

Game 2: sick opening Parting delays cc first build by brining out 5 probes and rallying zealots forces the cancel (twice?) on the cc manges to get lots of scv and marine kills. But he gets greedy and MKP runs up the ramp to kill the 3rd and gets a good engagement with forcefields blocking the zealots. MKP wins

Game 3: MKP gives away that he thinks parting is going fast 3rd and parting does 7 gate timing when MKP was moving out with a medivacs full of marines and MKP didnt see it coming till it was at his door. Parting takes a fast win and MKP is devasted by the mistake. goes on tilt

SOOOO MANY BANELINGS!!!!!!!

There already IS a lot of Terran balance qqing, if my ladder experience is anything to go by. I'd just like Blizzard to figure out a way to fix the problem Terran's had since beta with its early game being so much stronger than its late.

Wow, did not expect MKP to go out.

Glad to see Parting going through despite having been cursed by Artosis

NaNiwa's PvP is excellent so if he can get past MvP He has a decent shot! espesially since no Zergs :D

Naniwa now has the best shot at the GSL he ever had. Naniwa always was good at PvP. I feel he learned a lot about being calm in his games. Even though I lean more towards PartinG, Naniwa should be a pretty hard opponent to beat. He already came too far to just let it go now.

Well, it's hard to pass up an all expenses paid trip and a chance to win $5000 just for a weekend's work - although for someone who has good prize money, I think they may want to pass on MLG.

Although I would say the previous tournament of $10000 and $25000 is certainly worth it to attend.
