so glad dreamhack isn't ppv i dont think theres even a small chance of it going ppv not as long as they have a paying live crowd and government funding (none of which the arenas have) SVT is goverment founded but they are not giving any money to Dreamhack, they just offered their streaming services for them to use (which is a kind of support but the way you put it indicated money). SVT are picking up anything that is "in the public interests" which apparently eSPORTS is becoming more and more =) What's SVT? Swedish National Television. Its 3 (or 4 ?) tv channels that recieve funding from the government. The channels have no commercials and are available for free to anyone with a tv in Sweden aswell as most of the nordic.

Thorzain won? Very nice. This is only his second big win right? I don't really remember him winning anything major after TSL 3. It was certainly long overdue. Congrats and enjoy the win! I hope your next one comes much sooner.

SVerige's Television (Sweden's Television) It's kinda like the BCC if you're familiar with it, just a lot smaller =P. Back when TV was brand new all we had was SVT and it was all news and sporting events.

Alot of times interviewers are pretty regrettable. Yeah Incontrol did an amazing job, I hope he does more casting/hosting in the future.
Loved Incontrols interviews and with Apollo and Wolf casting(apart from the 5-6community streams) what more do you really need? :p
Now we at least know what casters actually go for the money instead of the fanglory.

anyway, fantastic event. Edit: nevermind A foreign terran, and I'm pretty sure it is the first time a foreign terran has won anything in about a year. Kas won Copenhagen games and lucifron won the gathering? I'm sorry but those are not even close to being major events.

It's two, but they are renting out space in the TV-house to other channels.

Ask the communists (Left-wingers) in Sweden.

Strongly agree with this, eSports tournaments seem to care more about the ease of fapping to the interviewer rather than the actual level of the interview.

Right wing extremists have taken ownership of nationalism / patriotism so it's very stigmatized. It's a result of WWII.

Yeah, Kas was the next closest person for the title of best foreigner Terran, but he didn't win any major events. He was and still is a beast online for smaller events though.

MIRACLE!
Stephano has been dethroned by Thorzain on the TLPD foreign ranking after what? 7 months in a row of 1st place?

Yeah, I didn't even think about the casters, they were great. I remember the first Dreamhack I watched, dApollo was torn to shreds on the forum even though he did pretty good. Now he has developed into such a great caster that he rivals anyone, IMO.

There is a lot truth in this. There's a lot of anti-nationalistic sentiment in Sweden. I share them too and try hard to suppress such feelings (though I'm not always able, I believe it's a very natural thing for humans to sympathize with "their own").
Buuuut... when it comes to swedish Starcraft 2-players, especially against Koreans, I go bat-shit-crazy. I go bat-shit-crazy for Stephano against Koreans as well - they're just so dominant. Add the "swedish factor" into that and I act like such a crazy fan-boy.
