You know that from this year there are more than 2 DH events a year? Oh and you are right MLG provides way less content compared to DH which streams almost all matches.

anyway, fantastic event. Edit: nevermind A foreign terran, and I'm pretty sure it is the first time a foreign terran has won anything in about a year. Kas won Copenhagen games and lucifron won the gathering? I'm sorry but those are not even close to being major events. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Major_Tournaments Major Tournaments have at the very least 5 Koreans participating.
Rofl is the standard definition you just made up on the spot?, I think Ill take liquipedia's classification tyvm

That kind of distorts competition... Let's call the WTO :D I think that Telia sponsors their bandwidth for the most part, perhaps not in this tournament though.

so glad dreamhack isn't ppv i dont think theres even a small chance of it going ppv not as long as they have a paying live crowd and government funding (none of which the arenas have) SVT is goverment founded but they are not giving any money to Dreamhack, they just offered their streaming services for them to use (which is a kind of support but the way you put it indicated money). SVT are picking up anything that is "in the public interests" which apparently eSPORTS is becoming more and more =) What's SVT? Swedish National Television. Its 3 (or 4 ?) tv channels that recieve funding from the government. The channels have no commercials and are available for free to anyone with a tv in Sweden aswell as most of the nordic. ? It's two, but they are renting out space in the TV-house to other channels. SVT1 SVT2 Barnkanalen Kunskapskanalen SVT24 So it's 5 (4 if you count channel slots since Barnkanalen/Kunskapskanalen share channel)
So how much was shown on TV in sweden?

Because despite this, it was still better.
In my opinion at least, it's pretty subjective.

As a big Stephano fan I dont mind Thorzain really deserves this.
It was also getting abit sad that the only player who can win tournaments and compete vs the best korean got to offer are Stephano but now we also got Thorzain.
So it is possible to not goto korea and still be succesfull but very very rare lets hope this wins inspire some more foreigners to belive its possible

Oh... well, that still seems silly to me, if someone migrates to another country it makes more sense for him to change himself to fit better than for the country to change itself for the immigrantsbut to each his own I guess.

SVT isn't funded by the government though. It's founded by the people through the mandatory "tv license". The whole point of having public service TV networking is that the government shouldn't be involved. Democracy, transparency, separation of power and all that shiznit.

No that SVT is streaming only means just that, they don't pay or show advertisements on their stream. They just offers it for the whole public without advertisements, the DH Summer and Winter will get shown on live on TV. Eizo Open was just shown on SVTPlay, their website. (much like BBC for example) The one that supports Dreamhacks crazy bandwidth is Telia but i bet Dreamhack pays for it.
