Big sc2 tournaments will be all Korean soon. The western players need to stop slacking and their teams need to whip them. You will lose viewers if you don't.

yeah, i can't see it there but people seemed to be saying (at least in the Jjakji fc) that he at least had one series broadcast =(

damn, this tournament really overkilled on the Koreans.
They are better, so obviously they 100% deserve to be up there.

But it does take away a lot of fun for me if the championship bracket is Korean only (maybe Stephano can make it we will see).
When 2 koreans play eachother it brings good matches, but somehow I just can't 'connect' with any of them. I couldn't care less who actually ends up winning when 2 Koreans play.

Perhaps I'm ignorant and clueless about the NA talent pool, if so please do enlighten me, but the first rounds of the open bracket in IPL4 contained a ton of names I've never heard of.

What names are the biggest is really debatable, but Naniwa, Kas, Thorzain, Titan, Snute, Nerchio, Socke, Mana etc. are names as big as any foreign player at IPL4 (except for Stephano/HuK).


The only foreigner not at IPL that I see maybe making into Pools is Naniwa, but even that is a stretch. Thorzain could win a couple rounds but that is it (I do miss those days right after his stint with SlayerS though when he was on top of the foreign scene, and I don't even like the whole "foreign hope" concept). All I am getting at is the Pools would still look the same with or without the rest of those EU players, and if you don't make pools its almost like you didn't even attend this event sadly.

You're still missing a lot of foreigners who could have a chance on IPL

Naniwa, Thorzain, maybe Grubby, Morrow and Happy could have taken a match vs some koreans


You should define "have a chance". "Have a chance" at winning a game or 2, sure why not, but as I said, Naniwa and Thorzain would have been the only foreigners missing that could have made a small run.

I should say that for myself even though I knew Sase and HuK were going deep into the bracket, I never once thought that they "had a chance" to make it into pools. Even if a decent foreigner gets a good matchup vs. a Korean here there is always a much tougher Korean waiting on the other side.


Sigh. I probably always make myself look like a huge Korean fanboy or something but I am just a fan of the best possible games and the whole foreign hope concept and people thinking players are better than they really are annoys me. I used to enjoy believing in it but all you get is disappointment from that line of thinking. >_< I mean it is fine if others want to keep up their hope but ah, whatever...

Heh, for people saying some of the top EU players aren't here, many of them tried to qualify thru UK qualifiers or online but didn't make it. And I don't think they wanted to fly over to play in the open bracket especially with tournaments at EU. Although I think some of the EU players would have taken series off Koreans, don't think the outcome would be that different. Remember that Koreans like DRG, Genius, MVP (probably wrist issue) and many others didn't come and MMA, MKP, Nestea, etc were already in pools.

Watch more GSL? Most of the current SC2 Korean pros have great personalities, you just aren't familiar with them and it certainly is more difficult to be familiar with them due to the different language and culture, but you should try atleast.

Best games + understanding the best players = lots of awesome :3

Can someone give me the link for VODs? On IGN Proleague page at Twitch.tv, I only see vods for the open bracket.
