Please stop the tournament comparison discussion. Especially regarding players their runs (Stephano seems to be the current topic). Stay on topic and stick to the games. Consequences will be met out to further derailment.

In addition leave the usual out of this topic:

-Balance complaints
-Map complaints
-Stream complaints
-Caster/player bashing
-Off topic discussions

Logically continue this list with things that are obviously frowned
upon. Enjoy the free and wonderful event with loads of games and coverage!

I'm glad we all found something to be really pissed about. Was looking deceivingly bright there for a minute.

Yeah felt like he didn't care too much to me.

well he was through alrdy so why would he care too much lol

Stephano wasn't excactly "caring" either with 8pool worker rush, but nobody's giving him crap. If you're out or through the tournament you can play how the fuck you want.

Sheth is not finished with the tourney.

By losing to Naniwa, I guarantee it will bite him in the ass later in the tourney if he lasts that long.

It won't. He got the #1 place for that group. His seeding won't be changed.
If you're talking about self-confidence, well I doubt it.

He's talking about the possibility of facing Naniwa later on.

The good thing about the GSL group stages is that they don't use a simple round robin style and therefor don't need to use maps as tiebreakers. If they used this system at dreamhack Cloud and Naniwa would have played a rematch for the last spot and everything would have been fine. Instead they played against two different opponents who both didn't really care about the match because Sheth already advanced and Stephano was already eliminated.
I want to be with those who share secret things or else alone.

And this is why the GSL format is "better" or "fairer". No discussion possible.

I used too little words in that statement.

No discussion possible.

I was referring to trowing games, not about what the best system is. Especially in a tournament were only a limited amount of teams participate, round robin will always fuel discussion about trowing games.

I dislike the GSL Bo1 format, but if there were Bo3. I don't think we can use round robin in SCII, too much chance of people trowing games. Not caring about your last game, and playing worse than your first game, is pretty annoying as well.

I guess i agree with you, GSL format is good, IF they had BO3 games because BO1s are stupid idea and always will be. Like having a 1 set tennis match etc etc.

So many tourneys these 2 months hard to keep up!

The round robin format they're using at DH is already bo1. The bo1 argument doesn't apply here. Of course having a bo3 is preferable to a single game, but only if time allows.

*edit: yeah I got the above completely wrong. Wasn't thinking straight.

Compared to the OSL/GSL format, the round robin format plays one extra game per group. The problem with the round robin is that for as many as two games, it doesn't matter for one of the competitors if they win or lose. Even in the case where all the games matter, ties need to be broken with arbitrary rules that are inconsistent from competition to competition, which make the tournament more difficult to follow. The good thing about the OSL/GSL format is that all 5 games matter no matter what, and the people who advance have beaten the people who don't in games that matter for both players.

The only thing DH really needs to improve upon tbh is player camera's. It really helps in making the audience feel more connected to the players. Other then that, it's good production and awesome games all around :D

Also, Hakuna Matata xD
