Please stop the tournament comparison discussion. Especially regarding players their runs (Stephano seems to be the current topic). Stay on topic and stick to the games. Consequences will be met out to further derailment.
In addition leave the usual out of this topic:
-Balance complaints -Map complaints -Stream complaints -Caster/player bashing -Off topic discussions
Logically continue this list with things that are obviously frowned upon. Enjoy the free and wonderful event with loads of games and coverage! |

He failed his plan because he beat Could once. If Cloud went 2-0 then he and nani would be at 5-3 with the advantage going to Cloud cause he won the head to head. Good thing that didn't happen, the drama would have been out of control. Congrats to Naniwa, he deserved the spot.

They are not bad. Not flawless by any means but not bad. I'd love to know what his idea of a perfect system is. This is about as traditional as it gets. that a system is traditional does not make it good. you see things like group stages into knockout in things like, say, the world cup, because of logistical constraints which simply don't exist in an SC2 LAN, or at least not to the same extent. 14 hour days for Dreamhack... Yeah, not the same logistical restraints O_o (though it's DH's choice to have every game streamed).
Edit: And what the fuck is a better format/structure/whatever than Dual Tournament style?

so idra and stephano are out of dh for good?

Naniwa would still have won.

I used too little words in that statement. I was referring to trowing games, not about what the best system is. Especially in a tournament were only a limited amount of teams participate, round robin will always fuel discussion about trowing games. I dislike the GSL Bo1 format, but if there were Bo3. I don't think we can use round robin in SCII, too much chance of people trowing games. Not caring about your last game, and playing worse than your first game, is pretty annoying as well.
I guess i agree with you, GSL format is good, IF they had BO3 games because BO1s are stupid idea and always will be. Like having a 1 set tennis match etc etc.
I dont mind how they did this tourney in DH but i just think the group draw for next round was very harsh on some players, EG team kill group and then theres group C (no offense to the players) but its very weak skilled people.
Gotta love how many tourneys are currently on going aswell!
GSL November MLG Providence ASUS ROG NASL Season 2 Finals DreamHack
So many tourneys these 2 months hard to keep up!

It sucks for Cloud but the system is fair.
Yeah, i see it now, i just feel so bad for cloud after taking out a titan like naniwa and he still doesnt progress, but yeah the system is as fair as it can be.

Eugh, I can't believe how much I feel like moaning about an hour's wait for games lmao
WHY THE FUCK DO THEY NEED LUNCH FOR
edit: although they could of course have staggered the streams/play rather than having a universal lunch.
