Standard LR thread rules apply. No caster bashing, no insulting the interviewers, no player bashing, no balance whining. Bans will be doled out to violators so don't shit up this thread with immature garbage.

Puma and Hero are both amazing. They each took a macro game off each other, and then they bothed chessed in game 3. There is zero reason to call Puma a cheesy player, when they both chessed the same amount. People just can't enjoy the games and this awesome tournament. Time to watch White-Ra and Slush play some awesome games!

these two current casters really ruin the experience for me. it's like listening to a podcast starring two buds with an awkward sense of humor trying to amuse themselves while casually observing a sc2 game in the background. no professionalism.

Go dig a hole and get inside. PROXY IS NOT CHEESE!!!!!!! And nothing that toss does can compare to 1-1-1. Also, Hero made lots of better decisions in that one game. I don't know why I am answering to you.

Proxy is most definitively a form of cheese. Still, HerO played amazing, too bad he didn't win

And yet again, Puma beats a fan favorite protoss and gets slack from the mob. The guy will continue to pull out a game like that, continue to beat your favorite protoss, and you will all continue to whine about balance.

Oh and, people criticizing puma's "pride" and "shame". STFU. You play to win, period.
Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

Did anyone see when did Puma build the second raven? When the DT went in Puma's main, I figured Hero should target down the tech lab on the starport first so that Puma can't build more Raven since the OC didn't have enough energy for a scan anyway and there's no other way to detect the DTs.

I'm not sure if Painuser is right about there being a second raven. I didn't see the first one go down. He may have just flew it back.

I have no problems with Blizzard, Hero, Puma or the casters. Am I a little disappointed in some things about what they did? Yes, but it is ok. They did their best. They did their job. I don't expect perfection.

However, the camera director at IPL? You suck. You didn't do your job. You're one job is to present to me a game of Starcraft and you didn't.
I can understand and forgive cutting camera to a player's face for 2 seconds at a critical moment. Sometimes it works out well and sometimes it is annoying. Cutting to a player's face for 5 to 10 seconds when the casters are screaming their heads off and the crowd is going wild... what the hell is wrong with you? I can forgive that if you were in the booth and caught in a seizure of nerd chills or a heart attack.

But whether it was nerd chill siezure, a heart attack, or intentional...

It wasn't even a normal 1-1-1, the whole game was chaotic and players had to improvise. Hero just made mistakes (not the Nexus)

in a situation like that it's tough to think all things through straight

Yes, of course it's tough, but that doesn't mean we need to attribute this loss to balance because it was "tough" for this player.

Puma handled the DT in the main quite well (getting another raven, and keeping a bunch of marines in the main to kill it), played very patiently when the initial 111 hit (never lost all of his units, slow bunker pushing and constant cancelling when they didn't go up), and positioning his units quite well in the final engagement, and that's kind of getting ignored for some reason.

Jinro explains that game perfectly.

It wasn't just a 1-1-1. Is was a proxy-stargate countered by 1-1-1 transition countered by fast Twight Council.

How could people not notice Puma TARGETTING DOWN THE OBSERVER so his Banshees could cloak with impunity? How could people not notice Hero preparing to proxy the DT before Puma even moved out?

It was a boxing match. Puma slugged a little harder. Great game and I am maining Protoss currently (normally random).

Um Hero lost his obs running into a bunker/raven. Puma didn't actually chase it down.

What better decisions did Hero make? Losing his VR for nothing? Going DTs against someone who has Ravens and is in the process of all-in attacking you? Saving to make a nexus against 0 economy where all he has to do is hold and he wins? Not forcefielding his ramp which would have given him time to get enough units? So many mistakes from Hero. Puma doesn't do anything special but he's just really solid and makes no big blunders.

I completely agree. He couldn't get out gateways in time.

that's not a excuse for putting down a nexus. that's him not macroing well on 4gates 1 base

Are you serious? Did you not see the constant chrono on the gates?

Whatever. It all comes down to bad macro. He could have had an extra gateway...
Not saying Hero is bad, the game was awesome and Puma played brilliantly. Just saying that the extra nexus sounded like "obvious" macro mistake...

So protoss makes a few small mistakes auto game over. Terran makes a bunch of mistakes no problem. How could I never have thought of this. DAVID KIM HIRE THIS MAN.

He had like 4 or 5 gateways on 1 base. More gates would mean idle gates which viewers will then say that he should have cut down on the number of gates.
