The answer is Hongun , he never played in the Up/Downs if i remember correctly.
He did since up & downs used to be bottom 2 of a group regardless of whether you went 1-2 or 0-2.
but 2 r4's 2 r8's r16's etc can't be denied, and he's arguably posted the best results of any toss lately.

hongun may have consistent results, but have never been even to finals. Also his play entire play depends on gambles, so his luck will end sooner or later. The sad truth is that MC is all Toss have, and when he is in a slump the race goes down.

Did anyone hear an announcement about ESV? There's supposed to be an announcement during the up/down matches. Maybe some kind of Gom/ESV collaboration?

Oh mc... did he ever plan to go beyond 2 bases? Huge game to shape up the group.

Or was he supposed to turtle to 200/200 on two base while Losira takes the map and goes broodlord/corruptor? Well, I'm not a Protoss player, I'm a Zerg, so I'm just thinking out loud and trying to see how a Protoss player may think of this situation. One thing is clear: two base Protoss timings are obsolete against Zerg now. I'm just wondering if there's maybe a really safe (cannon heavy?) style that can secure a third and max out reasonably quickly.
You act like the deathball is actually hard to beat for people besides IdrA. Getting three base is not an instant win especially if you invest a ton into cannons.

10 pool for kyrix, 14 gas/pool for check
looking good for pouty zerg

Quit complaining. SC2 is so volatile, Terrans and Zergs are not able to be consistent either. Nestea fell to up and downs, MVP fell to code A as well, remember?
Bo1 format is the main reason, and constant metagame change in this early stage of this game.

2:00 10 pool on the way for Kyrix, Check with the safe 14 pool.

Any cannon heavy style wouldnt work on that map (if any map..) It just means you can't apply pressure and Zerg is free to expand even more.

If you put pressure on a Zerg and they handle it, you're behind and can't put on more pressure so you lose to their superior economy 10 minutes later.
If you don't put pressure on a Zerg and let them make dem drones, the same happens. That's why Protoss are finding the matchup so difficult now, especially with Infestor play Protoss is finding it very difficult to move out and apply pressure without the risk of just straight up dying.

Huk and Genius are also consistently average.
GSL Code S, making it too ro8 ++ is not really average. Not sure what you are trying to say? Do SC2 has such a tiny player pool that Huk can be considered average?

It was a joke.
But quite honestly, HongUn has been much better than MC the last couple of months. There really isn't a "Protoss President" or "Protoss King" at the second.

It's always the same. It's just like that in any bar when people are watching football (soccer) and facepalm on every decision by top players and shout out what they should've done.

That was pretty godlike by Check

lol. No other protoss is close to MC's level. MC has the most success by FAR of any other protoss. Don't start this bullshit.

Kyrix always has the cool ZvZ builds but he can never execute them. =/

Hopefully everyone will see that zerg can't aimlessly a-move banelings
