I'm not sure of the exact regulations, but it's because the event is in a Casino, rather than a conference center or something like that.

Invites make me T_T. Not about who they are, but people getting into tourneys for free. Sure it helps the tournament but it makes it hard for new talent to rise up and make a name for themselves.

that's why they have the online qualifiers. The new talent can earn the free travel and accommodation as well.

I'm not going to lie, I am a little bitter that I will have paid most likely twice as much for the same seat as the person sitting next to me simply due to the fact that I got my ticket earlier.
