Nerchio has got this over Idra
|
nerchio will have a chance against the graken this will be very close it depends on how soon after the idra/mana game it was played if he was still on tilt there could be a big problem
|
I rather doubt Nerchio will beat IdrA. I still think IdrA's got the best ZvZ outside of Korea (except Sen, but he's effectively playing as a Korean). ThorZain's just the stronger player and should win 3-0 or 3-1.
|
|
They played on NA server, so Nerchio with latency may loose to Idra – but I think his ZvZ is superior. Nerchio ftw!
|
idra is a terrible player, he doesn't use his brain, he's just a macro robot, nerchio's zvz is awesome, his micro is incredible meanwhile idra's micro is just okayish.
thorzain should take it 3-2, both are only decent at tvt, hard to predict.
|
Nerchio never lose in ZvZ ever so I doubt Idra got a chance
|
Thorzain should probably win the lower bracket either way.
|

Also keep in mind that we have two Protoss players, MaNa and WhiteRa, remaining in the Winner's Bracket that will be playing tomorrow. All of today's series will be best of 5 as well!
|
Hoping for IdrA to to make it to the LB final, and for some BM. Gogo!
|
No way Idra can win against ZvZ god Nerchio
|
I would like to see Idra vs. Thorzain so bad. This will probably happen. Idra's zvz is quite sick and I don't see strelok standing a chance against Thorzain.
|
this should have bin played around the time when nercihio 4-0 morrow right?? but I'm guessing z-z is very lag sensitive so it can go eater way..
|
Nerchio: 72% ZvZ Idra: 80% ZvZ
I think Idra has played against tougher competition though.
|
IPL 2 really went fast feels like it went faster then the first one.
Really hoping for Idra here. I'm pretty much blameing yesterday on the shitty maps in the pool.
|
Joshy, could you give us a clue how long ago were the games played? Thanks.

Idra has faced tons of great koreans numerous times in zvz. Especially back in korea, he used to verse the likes of nestea and all those other korean zergs. Well of course now hes rusty cuz he lives with EG who are all bad....

i have a feeling idra is going to come back from losers bracket and beat mana. A very good feeling

Both are good @ZvZ. It will be very close skillwise. Go Nerchio!

You kidding? Stephano, Dimaga, Nerchio, Morrow, Ret are weak zergs? What does NA have other than idrA? Sheth, Destiny (lol), Spanishiwa(lol), Vibe? None of them are as good as the eu zergs.

Simple quick question, the games have already been played right, and are only live casted?
Go Go Almighty ThorZain!
|
Come on Strelok! I'm a fan of both (though a bigger fan of Strelok) but also I don't want Thorzain's beastly TvP to be a problem for Mana and WhiteRa.
As for Nerchio for IdrA... I think Nerchio can take it. He has shown how strong he is in the past, most recently that he 3-0'd Ret. It will be an interesting result regardless.
|
Haha, I actually stopped watching yesterday after how terrible Mana was playing against Idra. Guess that'll teach me not to assume an Idra win until it's completely over.

You must be new to watching Nerchio, since his Acer sponsorship he's cut down a bit now though.

Do people just want Nerchio to win, or actually think he'll beat IdrA (according to the poll)?
From what I've seen on past threads, Nerchio has gotten a lot of hype... but as far as being able to compete at IdrA's level? I don't know about that.

Probably alot of viewers that stil aren't familiar with TL, which is also good, since it means IGN is having success in exposing the game to new sspectators.

|
IdrA's mindset in match ups.
In TvZ Terran is an abusive imba race, you should apologise for playing it. In PvZ Protoss is imba, my roaches can't kill everything. In ZvZ it's just a coinflip.
|
|
I don't get it, why do people even go bling's anymore in ZvZ unless it's a 2base all in?
Why not just do roach into quick muta tech? Idra's probably already lost by build order.

It's a justin.tv problem, every time a commercial comes on, the sound auto-mutes permanently. You have to adjust the slider to reset it after a commercial.

You can't end a 4 base game in the time that it takes broodlords to morph You'd sit in your base and hope to get hydras out before the slow broodlords get to you, obvs.

My original point was that Idra kept an overlord sitting right outside of nerchio's main. The commentators mentioned about 10 times that Idra could have seen that nerchio was morphing a hive but on idras vision it was still a lair. If idra had moved the overlord up like a few inches he would have seen the Hive and the Greater Spire.

Idra has no variety in his build orders, he does the same thing every game and when it doesn't work he leaves. He thinks every game is going to be a macro game where he's safe to drone up and take an expansion at his natural, then when he gets hit with a timing attack he leaves the game. He's not the threat he used to be as a zerg player in my opinion.

He puts in the time, in customs, ladder and plays just about every cup possible. Something some players such as IdrA haven't done of late. He deserves everything he gets. Time = success in this game .

That's because instead of practicing new builds and figuring out new strategies, he has just latched on to the idea that the game still has major balance issues and that as a zerg he's bound to lose no matter what he does. It's no surprise to me that EG isn't posting good results anywhere.

Nerchio does bm a decent bit although I think he has gotten better recently. I have noticed that depending on who he is playing he can be pretty friendly sometimes, he had a series vs demuslim b4 demu moved to arizona and he was pretty chatty and friendly with demu in that, he also seemed to get along pretty well with beasty as most of the time they played in cups they would continually just poke fun at each others races and stuff

gezz people need ot stop using 1 result from 1 tourny as someone is bad at something. nobody has a 100% rate and Yes idrA lost and zvz is super volatile. aside from Nestea who seems to never lose. Everybody loses around 35-50% of the time.

that was brilliant from nerchio, not sacrificing his lings against marines / hellions behind the mineral lines, but instead wait for the roaches to clean them up and counter-attacking with the lings.

Thor has a macro problem in TvZ which he doesn't have in TvT and TvP.

A lot of people do. TvZ is just such a different match-up. In TvT and TvP you don't have to constantly pressure your opponent and worry about his economy. In TvZ if you don't slow it down, you just get absolutely crushed and can't come back.

The way the bracket is set up, that's not possible. Nerchio will have to beat both White-Ra AND Mana if he wants to win it all. He faces the loser of their match, and if he wins he then faces the other one in the grand final.

Guys just take a look at Nerchios run through the loosers bracket. He initially lost to Cloud, and then won vs Kiwikaki, Minigun, Vibe, Goody, Ret, Idra, Thorzain. Not bad.

I think having played the ASM style for months (marines raven with 10 reactored raxes) has helped my TvZ macro a lot, because know I always make too much raxes even without playing this style, and Thorzain in this serie didn't have enough raxes. He had 2 raxes at one point which is very little vZ, even early.

Lol? How could he NOT run into Mana? Even if he gets "lucky" and gets White-Ra next, then he'll just have to play Mana in the finals.
Also, I'm curious why you think Mana would be his achilles heel.

Not gonna lie I'm happy Idra lost after being such a jerk. Not a single GG after getting straight up out played. Does this mean that zerg is OP now...wait a second here...
Anyways jokes aside Idra isn't dumb every time he is an ass and BMs and cries and whines he gets more views. Whether you tune in to see him win and play like a champ or you tune in to see him get crushed and BM, doesn't really matter to him if you're a fan ,or a hater he still gets paid.

Nerchio is such a freaking BEAST.
I've been a fan for a long time, I hope this guy gets to perform at some in-person events soon. He's sooooooo underrated.
Idra is getting to be such a tool. What was wrong with Nerchio's play in any of those games? He beat Idra in every different way there is. Not GGing after those games is really pathetic. It's ZvZ ffs, anyone that drones to 90 before building a unit is retarded, not manner. Classic Idra though, doesn't understand the game at all.

He doesn't gg because he doesn't fucking want to, not because he thinks Nerchio is bad.
He pretty much ONLY ggs when tourneys force him to.
It's a triviality to him, something forced by expectations, therefor it has no meaning.

Could this be his shot? He didn't really participate in many big tournaments yet. (bnet eu invitational was his first big event)
Wat. What about that Dailymotion cup by ESL with a €2,000 prize where he murdered everybody and 4-0'ed morrow in the finals -_-
Or the shoutcraft invitational with an $800 final. Go through his game history on TLPD. He murders top players in cups for a living.

Aw why do they already put on the results spoiler the results for the next game from today before it went live? -.- Didn`t thought they`d do such thing, x=

Think again mate

and tourneys don't force you to....that would be stupid....he only GG's when it's someone he knows and likes...not even if its a "Good Game" but anyways....maybe next time

So, theres already a guaranteed 16k going to Poland? :p
|
Poland on a roll :D to think of it such talents aswell and Mana/Nerchio are still so young, with Tarson sollid like a rock, Tefel up and coming zerg and DieStar who does great on cups so far ... totaly missed poland being that good
Anyway, good to see Nerchio making a name for him self, and it seems his parents alow him to go to lan events now, wich is fantastic.
About the BM, ye he did do that alot, but people seem to forget his age aswell. With his new team he seems to learn to manner up alot more wich is why you can't compare him to Idra for i believe Nerchio will grow up to be a respectful player while the other does not grow up at all.
There is always Lalush though, our EU version of a drama queen !
|
old ppl get wird when there is money on line so why kids wouldnt be lalush is total dick like idra - they are just to old for acting like (BLEH) nerchio is kid but with gr8 potential he already stomprolled hell alot of cups in eu making me a fanboy mana`s pvz was horror but he recently done 1000% better and taking idra 3-2 is just top of wish list POLAND WILL TAKE IT ALL Nerchio or Mana ?

I think Idra has played against tougher competition though. That's the thing Europe has pretty weak Zergs.
cool story bro! xD Pretty weak zergs, huh? Dimaga or Stephano would demolish Idra
|
Idra's main problem is way he approaches the game and his opponents. He treats them like robots (MMA game) or if he is mad like shitbags. He is just immature and that's all. He is still fairly young (20 right?). It's sad and pathetic, hopefully day will come when Idra will change. At least to some degree (I don't care about his game balance whining, but respect ur opponents).
|
Idra's main problem at this point in time is that NA environment sucks for a progamer and that he's simply not good enough any more as a direct consequence.
|
hes main problem is his level of iq fuck you after losing a game? he should be banned from this cup
|

Those people who said that IdrA got bigger win percentage in zvz just take a look at how many games they have played.

He doesn't anymore?
Nerchio: vZ: 116-42 (73.42%) Idra: vZ: 46-17 (73.02%)
In his last matches Nerchio is 20 - 2 in ZvZ Idra has lost his last 5.

Cant believe people here were claiming that Idras zvz is better than Nerchios. I think now theyve hopefully learned their lession

Can't say I've ever thought about the East vs West Europe aspect. Although I always thought of Poland as a strange mix of both East and West Europe.
|
So there's 3 players left atm? Nerchio, WhiteRa, Mana? The outcome of LB #7 is not reflected in the bracket.
I hope Nerchio wins, would be a nice breakthrough tournament result.
|
idra's macro is fucking horrible rofl.
he's only good at massing drones. not a useful skill to have.
nerchio's resource balance was amazing. perfect balance of minerals to gas, while idra has like 4k minerals and 0 gas.

yea I agree poland is right in the middle of west and eastern europe so yea abit of mix of both.
But there isnt much of a difference between the west and east EU countries. There is a bigger difference between the southern EU countries and nothern countries

pure domination by Nerchio, WP He might go on and win it all !!

Lulz!! I love when the supposedly good Idra loses versus another zerg. The only possible reason for this is of course that blizzard secretly nerfed Idras units.
