Nice event, really enjoyed it. I was so happy Carmac and Rotti were part of it and loved all the games I managed to see. It was so awesome and I really liked the music too lol.

Also, HuK is listed as US and Canada on his BLizzcon profile. <3
Who are the other 2?

Winning this and assembly makes ret a bigger player in terms of accomplishment, but he's also a whole lot better just looking at performance right now. is winning really the only significant thing? How else are you gonna measure success? Losing? placing high? lol Idra is 0-15 vs koreans in recent games and he is losing to all the top foreigners (Sen Huk Naniwa) He's not even in competetion for top foreigner anymore and not even top foreigner zerg. He's never won a tournament with europeans or koreans in it.

This is ridiculous Exactly my thoughts... Unlike terrans, protoss players seem to have stopped doing the one base all ins or early pressure, allowing zergs to start with three bases (?), droning up to 60+ drones in the first few minutes. I totally cannot understand this trend. Ret was playing the same style few months ago and was blown away in Korea by early pàressure, always overdroning being his doom and now the same style reaps rewards. And please don't tell me how much he has improved - Ret has always been a macro beast, looks like his time has come. I can't make a 4 gate work against Zerg in Master league, so I've great doubts that it will ever work at this level. Protoss simply can't put pressure on the Zerg, and Zerg have figured out that these voidray/phoenixes harass were easily shut down by a few spore crawlers. So what can you do as Protoss ? Random timing pushes still occasionaly work though. Sad thing is that they it relies entirely on Zerg mistakes. Btw with the exception of MLG (dominated by Korean Terrans), every recent tournaments have been won by Zerg: GSL code S, WCG China, Assembly, now blizzcon, and btw one of the finalist of the current GO4SC2 is a Zerg as well (second might also be Zerg). And the most depressing is that you can't blame the infestors for that... It's more due to the fact that Zerg players learned how to use their lategame units and repell the timing pushes... That's what I have been saying for months now, only difference is I think the lack of 1 base play for P against zerg comes from the warpgate nerf(4 gate) which was the only real 1 base play you could do against zerg Now we have....umm well.....cannons i guess. I would much rather have a macro spell which matches inject larvae in a macro game rather than being able to pull out gimmicky 1 base blind all-in. That was not my point. It was the fear of a possible 1 base allin that kept zergs from mass expanding and droning. Much like they don't go for 3 hatches in ZvT in the first 3 minutes because they fear the 2 barracks and bunker rushes, hellions, etc.

You make him sound like his the incarnation of some sun God. Maybe he is indeed to hard on himself? Actually Naniwa already thinks high of himself, he is just a bit sad he did not place first, but really, he is a winner and Im sure he knows this as well.

I meant for the LA invitational to determine who goes to Blizzcon.

Why are we bringing IdrA in to this discussion anyway? This is an LR thread and Ret won and definately in that form deserved it. Liquid'Ret and his awesomeness is all that matters right now.
And yes, this is coming from an IdrA fan.

Idra and Sen are way more consistent then Dimaga and Ret. Sen is pretty good, but not particularly consistent, only really did well at NASL after a long long run of unsuccessful tournaments. The only thing Idra is consistent at is mediocrity, he has been going to alot of tournaments lately and never breaking top 3 in any of them. He's been to a lot of tournaments???? WHAT. All he does is MLG and IPL. What tournaments does he go to??????? Homestory, dreamhack, every MLG? Notable performances in none of them. He won MLG DC and got 4th at MLG Columbus. DC was quite a bit ago cmon, ret won assembly last winter but that doesnt tell us about his shape now? He's the one who brought up every MLG. I think winning one is a notable performance. 4th place isn't something to sneeze at either, considering the top 3 were Koreans and this thread is talking about foreigners. not sure what to answer, so you think that to see how good a player is now we should look at all the results they had? that's nonsense currently players like dimaga and ret step it up winning in very hard competitions vs top players , if Idra does the same he can be considered again among the best no problem;) not saying he's bad by any means , just saying that right now he's not equal with other top zergs In this particular conversation I'm not even discussing "how good is IdrA?" I'm correcting an incorrect statement: Homestory, dreamhack, every MLG? Notable performances in none of them. This statement simply isn't true. It's factually false. ye he had a top 4 two MLGs ago, gratz

Everyone thinks that poland sux. Glad to see such awesome event

Very touching end with Carmac crying
I just want to say that this has been a SUPERB event and everyone appearing on the Scene has done a SUPEB job. That goes for Rotterdam and MrBitters casting that was FLAWLESS aswell. Rotterdam is such a great caster and I only wish I could get more of him.
Im going to say it again, this is one of the best event Ive watched. It means so much to me when I see players I like play in a tournament. Instead of inviting Koreans for all the top spots MLG should watch this and learn.
THANK YOU GUYS.

I for one think the event was awesome. Glad Ret took the win but I loved all the players and I wish them all a great win in the nearby future.
Hope I won't get warned for going off-topic here.
