He don't have much experience on events like this

This was his very first LAN tournament. So not really suprising. I think you can call it a succesfull event for him. You beat White-Ra on your first LAN. I would be pretty excited if I were him.

white ra was jetlagged and tired as hell everyone saw it so i think nerchio didnt feel satisfied with taking only these wins

hmm...
Ret has qualified for NASL finals, he played pretty ok at the MLGs he attendet and won 2 major tournaments this year.
He is consistant and of course you can see him in one line with Idra and Sen. Dont see any problems here.

Edit: Awesome, I just saw that its already my birthday in KST.

Why are we bringing IdrA in to this discussion anyway? This is an LR thread and Ret won and definately in that form deserved it. Liquid'Ret and his awesomeness is all that matters right now.

And yes, this is coming from an IdrA fan.

Cause someone wins a tournement and hes clearly the best foreigner and we need to compair with the rest!

Off topic: Awesome event to watch

Pretty sad that things like this happen in every LR thread.

It was a great tournament, showing you don't necessarily need a big field of competitors as long as you get some of the best.

Wtf has idra won.. ever? I mean yeah he won an early MLG (before koreans and europeans even attended) and that all american 16 player invite tournament.. but that's it. Winning this and assembly makes ret a bigger player in terms of accomplishment, but he's also a whole lot better just looking at performance right now.

is winning really the only significant thing?

How else are you gonna measure success? Losing?

Yes placing second is really losing. Get a reality check mate

Should Naniwa get a reality check too?

He didn't look like the guy who just won.

You make him sound like his the incarnation of some sun God. Maybe he is indeed to hard on himself? Actually Naniwa already thinks high of himself, he is just a bit sad he did not place first, but really, he is a winner and Im sure he knows this as well.

What about MarineKing then? He seems to be taking it rather hard as well.

Maybe you need to reconsider your stance on that.

Yes, second place is a good ranking for an up and coming player, and such a player will be reasonably happy about placing second in a big tournament. And even that's not always the case, as we've seen with MMA in the super tournament.

For people who want to and are expected to win trophies? No fucking way. Not even close. They feel awful, and it's normal that they do. In some ways it's the worst ranking they can get.

For as long as I've been watching BW and SC2, I've never seen a happy 2nd ranked player.

Sen has never won any major tourney. His highest rank was #3 at NASL. The last time IdrA won was IPL with full of NA players, and we all know that NA server is just the playground of IdrA, SeleCT and Kiwi. DiMaGa and Ret are the only true best zerg players from my perspective.

IdrA fans need to back off a lil bit lol

I don't know. You can't expect a lot for your very first LAN. Even if White-Ra was jetlagged he is a very good opponent. He did not play his best. But for Nerchio it was good that he got some experience on a stage. It will only get better for him.

placing high? lol

Idra is 0-15 vs koreans in recent games and he is losing to all the top foreigners (Sen Huk Naniwa)
He's not even in competetion for top foreigner anymore and not even top foreigner zerg. He's never won a tournament with europeans or koreans in it.

OgsMC was about 10 of them. And Idra's ZvP was terrible back then so eh to be expected

MC is only 6 of the losses. They include losses to every race(nada zenio mma)

to add to all this praises, I have to say, the music was great for the whole event, too.

I can only bow my head to the organisation and executives of the event.

The whole who is the best [Race] after every single game in every single LR thread is starting to get very annoying though

Sen is pretty good, but not particularly consistent, only really did well at NASL after a long long run of unsuccessful tournaments. The only thing Idra is consistent at is mediocrity, he has been going to alot of tournaments lately and never breaking top 3 in any of them.

He's been to a lot of tournaments???? WHAT. All he does is MLG and IPL. What tournaments does he go to???????

Homestory, dreamhack, every MLG? Notable performances in none of them.

He won MLG DC and got 4th at MLG Columbus.

DC was quite a bit ago cmon, ret won assembly last winter but that doesnt tell us about his shape now?

He's the one who brought up every MLG.

I think winning one is a notable performance.

4th place isn't something to sneeze at either, considering the top 3 were Koreans and this thread is talking about foreigners.

not sure what to answer, so you think that to see how good a player is now we should look at all the results they had? that's nonsense currently players like dimaga and ret step it up winning in very hard competitions vs top players , if Idra does the same he can be considered again among the best no problem;) not saying he's bad by any means , just saying that right now he's not equal with other top zergs

In this particular conversation I'm not even discussing "how good is IdrA?"

I'm correcting an incorrect statement:

Homestory, dreamhack, every MLG? Notable performances in none of them.

This statement simply isn't true. It's factually false.

ye he had a top 4 two MLGs ago, gratz

You're completely clueless, gratz.
