It had traits of a game that helped the competitiveness of the game, such as grenade bouncing, double melee bug, backpack reload bug, less autoaim, and frankly, having the three shot kill on the pistol made it so that even if you spawn on top of a guy with sniper / rocket, you can skill out skill him. Just not a possibility beyond a fluke in any of the Halo games since then. And MechKing I have to disagree, I though Halo: 2 was the worst for being newbie. But that may be why I was also the best at that one I thought it was good for pro play because the BR was so good. No bullet spread on it was amazing :D I might be a little nostalgic though, since I pulled many all nighters with friends playing Halo 2 the whole time xD

Think of it from MLG's pov - its a brand new product that they were already having issues with. The SC2 cast before it was laced with swear words from TLO/MrBitter/Ret which is huge nono and probably already left them uncomfortable. On top of that there are sponsors watching - MLG are promoting it a lot and when you have a loose cannon who has a history of shitting on you (teasing or not - sponsors dont care about that) it looks incredibly bad. I'm not surprised they yanked 2GD - i'm more surprised Slasher convinced everyone to give him shot (after dreamhack). Whats he going to do next - say that Astro is a shit brand and that he only uses Razer headsets? The trust is gone at that point.
I think 2GD is really entertaining, and his BM is pretty funny - but don't pull your bitch-forks out when it bites him in the ass. Meh, if we started late on TSL and one of our casters said "I'm not used to starting late, I guess I should do more TL events" with a laugh or something, we'd probably not kick him off mid-cast. Then again, we're not exactly at the level of MLG with our events yet either (in terms of sponsorship and seriousness). I think it could've been handled better by MLG for sure, esp if that chatlog of the guy thinking it was actually TB is true, lol. It's just a joke and they kind of know what they're getting with 2GD (esp since he made jokes about MLG before?). Indeed, and especially since Sundance has joked (nay?) about the technical problems of MLG, thus one would think it was a complete taboo subject to mention.
Also, 2gd didn't bash MLG, but rather commented on the bad luck MLG has had imo. I mean, if they had Skype problems and 2gd mentioned that, how is that bashing the MLG organization?
2gd was also apparently invited at the last minute and was not prepped at all, so he just casted in his usual style. Instead of kicking him straight out, why wouldn't MLG just noted him about the issue in private in between games or something, rather than (nigh-)insta-kick him in the middle of a cast?
And of course I'm just annoyed at all forms of uptightassery. MLG just made it look itself silly by appearing not able to take a joke 50%+ people watching apparently missed the first time (and those who heard it found it primarily funny or just ignored it). Everyone saw the improvements MLG made between Dallas and Columbus. However, if they can't handle a joke, it's apparently a very sore spot for them still. (which is funny and conflicts with Sundance's own jokes about it... gergh)

I was looking forward to seeing what's so great about Catz' & Drewbie's 2v2.
Thanks.
I think I heard that in about 40 minutes (8:30 est) SC2 comes back. Hopefully they do it from replays, because I can't imagine it going well live...

I don't understand, it just sounds like 2GD was joking around. He was clearly making a joke. Perhaps a bit in bad taste, but then again not really compared to the other jokes that are being made by guys in the community all the time.

i bet its been said dozens of times in this thread already, but that Dutch flag next to TLO makes me cringe, being a german and so forth. In a soccer game you might get accidently killed if you venture into the ducth stands with a german jersey and vice versa. Really doesnt sit well with me :D

Thanks. JP mentioned it will be done later. I want to say he said it would be played before the QXC v Twilight match.

I like 2GD. I think hes hilarious.....and i laughed really hard when he said the mlg/dreamhack line.....
and to throw him off.....is actually even more funnier to me.... I hope 2GD will benefit from this (I think he will) and MLG should really calm down...the only thing that will be talked about is not the MLG stream....but 2GD...thx to MLG
and they should prepare alot better in every event they do...... so far IMO they are just "lucky" (lack of a better word) that they dont have any competition in the US.... all though IGN (or IPL) seems really good....

Whereas QL is a 1v1 situation where you can easily get a grasp on the situation, these team games are horribly chaotic and the spectator interface seems pretty lackluster. I can easily watch CS, perhaps owing to the frequent switching between camera views, and perhaps better commentary along with more tactical, coordinated team play, but what's showing currently is difficult to enjoy or appreciate. At least an on-screen radar would give me -some- idea of what's going on... Yeah, it's pretty hard to watch unless you play both games a lot. To many people it just seems like chaotic kill fests, but in reality you need a ton of teamwork and (speshul) tactics. I actually enjoy it though because I have played both games and can understand how they're trying to play and stuff.

I'm a sc guy and i've enjoyed quake and other games on other events, but this console fps bores me to no end:\

MLG's halo casters are amazing. They are really skilled at this and its really hard to cast a team fps like this.

These two work together just as well as a Tastosis, and I'm enjoying this way more than call of duty or quake.

I think 2GD is really entertaining, and his BM is pretty funny - but don't pull your bitch-forks out when it bites him in the ass. If they're going to be so butthurt about nothing then they should've done their freaking jobs and made shit like that clear to their casters beforehand, like a professional organization. You can't expect professionalism when you don't put any in yourself. If you have to be told not to talk shit about your employer you have issues. If your employer is so amateurish that they can't get their shit together enough to even provide a foolproof contract and NDA, you have issues. Also, 2GD was not employed by MLG, and he didn't talk shit. When you're allowed to guest commentate it's still them giving you the opportunity to cast. It's his fault for acting that way, if you need a contract shoved in your face to know not to make jokes about the company you're commentating for you'll have a hard time sticking around. MLG could have waited and handled things better, but ultimately protecting your brand is more important than giving a caster a long leash. 2GD has been around for a long, long time. You're wrong. The only one to blame here for not being professional is MLG. 2GD did his 'job' as usual. MLG obviously failed in their research and preparation.

everytime i watch someone try to turn 180 degrees on a console fps I cringe at how long it takes and then turn it off.

Yeah, the Halo casting and competitive play are much better than that of BlackOps. It's no Quake, but it's still quite solid.
Can't wait for the Quake CTF.
