Think of it from MLG's pov - its a brand new product that they were already having issues with. The SC2 cast before it was laced with swear words from TLO/MrBitter/Ret which is huge nono and probably already left them uncomfortable. On top of that there are sponsors watching - MLG are promoting it a lot and when you have a loose cannon who has a history of shitting on you (teasing or not - sponsors dont care about that) it looks incredibly bad. I'm not surprised they yanked 2GD - i'm more surprised Slasher convinced everyone to give him shot (after dreamhack). Whats he going to do next - say that Astro is a shit brand and that he only uses Razer headsets? The trust is gone at that point.
I think 2GD is really entertaining, and his BM is pretty funny - but don't pull your bitch-forks out when it bites him in the ass.

Another thing is, no-one actually could say MLG was in the blame for said technical difficulties in his comment considering that it was just some random Skype disconnection. Which makes it even more obvious how not serious he was with his comment.
While leagues run the stream for their own events, it's gonna be tough to avoid stuff like this. It feels like the joke really hit a nerve with the MLG guys, which i guess is kind of understandable, but they could and should have dealt with it more professionaly. What's the use of yanking him mid-cast? All it does is ruin the rest of that game while the comment is already out in the open anyway.
Oh, and for those that don't know, they definitely knew what they were getting with 2GD. He and Slasher go way back.

Double standards? People keep saying MLG has to be professional and is responsible for their stream towards their sponsors and paying customers. But it's NOT their fault when they constantly have technical issues?

For any of the sc2 Halo or Black ops It wouldn't be a problem because mlg would go to bat for them but quakes not the circut at least not yet and he doesn't have the relationship with mlg to get a pass for that.
saying that they have a hell of a lot of quake being played in comparission to their bigger established titles. only on the level of sc2 with is their biggest title right now.
I wish it was Halo: CE too. It had traits of a game that helped the competitiveness of the game, such as grenade bouncing, double melee bug, backpack reload bug, less autoaim, and frankly, having the three shot kill on the pistol made it so that even if you spawn on top of a guy with sniper / rocket, you can skill out skill him. Just not a possibility beyond a fluke in any of the Halo games since then. And MechKing I have to disagree, I though Halo: 2 was the worst for being newbie. But that may be why I was also the best at that one

Yeah, compared to Quake, Halo is kinda rough... but it's still more entertaining than BlackOps in my opinion, I find the team dynamics to shine through better, things like that last sacrificial flag toss to his teammate for the flag cap. There's some really clever play.

If your employer is so amateurish that they can't get their shit together enough to even provide a foolproof contract and NDA, you have issues. Also, 2GD was not employed by MLG, and he didn't talk shit.
When you're allowed to guest commentate it's still them giving you the opportunity to cast. It's his fault for acting that way, if you need a contract shoved in your face to know not to make jokes about the company you're commentating for you'll have a hard time sticking around.
MLG could have waited and handled things better, but ultimately protecting your brand is more important than giving a caster a long leash.
