Are you joking? The group stage is amazing, especially for this season now that it's winner v. winner and loser v. loser. Each match is incredibly important, we get to see a lot of different matchups, and it tests each player more than a BO3 against just one other player. It's my favorite part of Code S not counting semi finals and finals.

well this is a big flaw in the system. They went 1-1 against each other. July won the arguably more important first game and still doesn't advance. IMO it's stupid to just leave Rain's spot empty. Give it to someone like DRG or TheSTC

They decided to keep the format the way it is, making it so that Nestea gets a sure free win and the loser of July - Tester gets a free win, but not the winner. It was just one bad decision and it only has an effect on this group.

Rain would have beaten Tester, np =p No matter which you cut it having to win a single game is significantly easier than having to win 2.

Also, the format makes perfect sense, if a player drops it's fucked, obv, but that's the players fault, not goms... No it doesn't make any sense that the first match is worth absolutely nothing.

In every other group, losing your first game puts you at a HUGE risk to drop down. That Rain wasn't in is the only reason Trickster came out okay.

When a popular zerg loses, it's always because the game's imbalanced/the tournament format sucks. It's how TL works.

Always 1 TL forumgoer that lets me down. Blame the tournament structure when 1 player withdraws after the groups have been decided, and the group play isn't changed at all for the worse? Come on now! I get the feeling these guys won't be satisfied until a 10member independent panel rearranges everything every time someone drops.

Then why didn't y'all change the format for a 3 man group when the format was designed for 4 players?
