Seriously?Trickster played like crap and July just played even worse.Such a disappointing match.July had a huge lead when he kill off the first timing attack from trickster(the timing is ridiculously bad).July should just take a 3rd main and just capitalize on his lead.

blame rain, not gom; he was the one who forced this awkward position upon gom.

Or you could just blame July

GSL has got to fix this group stage crap. It's really pretty horrible, especially when it comes down to whether you get into the up/down matches or not.

Are you joking? The group stage is amazing, especially for this season now that it's winner v. winner and loser v. loser. Each match is incredibly important, we get to see a lot of different matchups, and it tests each player more than a BO3 against just one other player.

It's my favorite part of Code S not counting semi finals and finals.

If you look the results in op, I included rain's games, and it would have been the exact same result.

This is quite true tho

well this is a big flaw in the system.

They went 1-1 against each other. July won the arguably more important first game and still doesn't advance.

IMO it's stupid to just leave Rain's spot empty. Give it to someone like DRG or TheSTC

new format announced: everyone loves it

july goes 1-1 with tester but goes down because of new format: OMG IT SUCKS

The problem isn't the format, that's way better than the old one, the problem is gom's reaction to Rain dropping out. They decided to keep the format the way it is, making it so that Nestea gets a sure free win and the loser of July - Tester gets a free win, but not the winner. It was just one bad decision and it only has an effect on this group.

Rain would have beaten Tester, np =p

No matter which you cut it having to win a single game is significantly easier than having to win 2.

Unfair system.... July also has a free win against Rain! So normaly Tester has to play against Nestea, so that it will be fair!

There is nothing unfair about this. Both players were going to play each other again anyways.

No it doesn't make any sense that the first match is worth absolutely nothing.

Yeah, because July won the first game. July played 3 games, and he had to win two to advance. Tester played two, and had to win one game to advance.

In every other group, losing your first game puts you at a HUGE risk to drop down. That Rain wasn't in is the only reason Trickster came out okay.

When a popular zerg loses, it's always because the game's imbalanced/the tournament format sucks. It's how TL works.

Always 1 TL forumgoer that lets me down. Blame the tournament structure when 1 player withdraws after the groups have been decided, and the group play isn't changed at all for the worse? Come on now! I get the feeling these guys won't be satisfied until a 10member independent panel rearranges everything every time someone drops.

Then why didn't y'all change the format for a 3 man group when the format was designed for 4 players?

Why couldn't this be solved by making july/tester play a best of 3 to see who is really better?
