The zerg let him build up a perfect deathball. The brilliance was how quickly Socke got there, by transitioning into a stargate from early gateway pressure, allowed him to build up some voids, while containing the zerg and totally denying infomation. He also forced a few hydras, which Dimaga didn't really want to use by the look of his bane/roach compsition. Socke then took an agressive and somewhat risky third, but that risk paid off massively as he quickly got out a few collossus to complete his ideal army composition.

The "crowd" is actually about 20 people from what I've seen in a Totalbiscuit footage. You can kinda hear when they are cheering, lol. Not really worth showing imo.

Zergling speed on the way for Dimaga

Step 1: force 15 lings in the early game that do nothing Step 2: kill almost all queens to hamper production Step 3: take easy second, followed by a third before zerg considers a fourth Step 4: go for superior upgrades, more expensive army, have equal probes to drones before baneling drop that spurs the attack Step 5: zerg makes 10 banelings and about 30 roaches and the rest lings Step 6: Protoss wins after engaging in a choke, zerg a-moves while protoss micros to avoid baneling bombs but protoss is easy a-move race. socke's micro not that amazing should have individually moved away each stalker in a perfect star formation while creating a smiley face with forcefields Step 7: KILL ALL OP PROTOSS BURN DOWN BLIZZARD HQ

Spire going down for Dimaga

Look at it this way: Dimaga was floating 3k minerals and 2k gas when he lost. Socke was at 150 supply after losing 30+ probes. This means they had pretty much the same amount of food in army but Dimaga had most his resources banked. His army was significantly cheaper. Socke should have won that battle and did.

Day9 doesn't know that slow Lings have the same speed as Stalkers .

Zerg QQ :D its sooo funny Meh, deathballs by toss are just really good. I love when toss do amazing FF or blink micro or something but calling an a-move with a slight retreat when he sees a baneling drop "perfect control" is an insult to players like MC and their control. Except that was very amazing control. Not a single Colossus was able to get sniped, not a single hole in the FF and not a single baneling managed to hit a Stalker. It is about engaging and being able to push before Zerg delays you too much, Socke did that perfectly, Dimaga had to by time but Socke just rolled right through. Though pretty hilarious Zerg are crying since they have been winning 90% of PvZ's lately
A couple of points: - Sniping colossi? With the roaches or the lings ? The fact is there are no corruptors present, I wouldn't expect a single colossus to go down when they outrange the roaches 9 to 4. That really is a composition advantage, no some mad micro. - There actually were holes in the FF but those just allow the Zerg units to trickle in and die better, as long as Zerg can't advance en masse the forcefields are effective. Again though, not exactly perfect control (unlike some things we had seen by MC). - As for banelings on the stalker, he hit blink once when he saw a cloud of overlords ... I'm pretty sure the ability to blink back the whole stalker army once is something most masters protoss have.
Socke played well by having good upgrades and a very good composition (more importantly Dimaga's composition was severely lacking corruptors or infestors and he was supply capped with a lot of roaches which is always terrible). Let's not get carried away calling his control anything special, let alone perfect.
Again, not discussing balance, just saying the game was not won by some kind of perfect control at the end.

Sucks that only 2 can advance from each group, I am cheering for almost all of these guys.
Bratok/Morrow/Socke/Dimaga/Nightend/Strelok/Ret fighting!
