Lol. That's what happens when you have a lot of 'girl' fans. It's not necessarily a lower level. Just different. Nerds embracing their hetero mancrushes. Lol.

So what happend? MMA chokes, Polt playes rush/offensive terran and MMA loses all 4 games rather than Polt winning them.
We get a boring finals, people polarize and care either way but truth be told a 4-0 finals is never a good or a fun thing, I don't care if Polt outplayed MMA... MMA played like shit and there was no contest, thus it was boring to see.
meh... What? MMA was the one who rushed Polt in Game 4 and got completely smacked down. You didn't watch the game.. His attack was successful. He got owned by the counter banshee, just like in the MKP game. Yes. He got outplayed. Polt is a better player than MMA. There is a reason why Polt is 2nd in Korea in ELO, has the a +30 wins margin in the past few months and actually in Code S. MMA is a great player, but I think he was built up too much from his MLG Columbus victory. I think the better player won. Uh.. most of MMA's real fans knew that he had holes in his game, shown time and time again as he always falls behind/loses early on. The fact that you even listened to bandwagoners makes me laugh. Seriously, MMA fans took over Huk fans as most annoying and delusional. I call it the MLG champion effect. Bandwagoners that were calling MMA top terran in the world are stupid. If you look at his game objectively you'll see that he: Has risky openings which often lead to him losing/falling behind early. Has poor mechanics which gets him supply blocked often which also contributes to him getting behind early. Makes good in game decisions. Has great unit control. Whether or not the last 2 traits can make up for the first two depends entirely on how much pressure the opponent applies on him early on. Supernova wrecked him early on in all their 3 games but failed to follow that up and got out macro'd later on. MKP did the same but went away from what was working and lost in longer games. Now you have someone like Polt who commits to early bio timing attacks and everyone is screaming that MMA choked (retards to be honest) when what we actually have is someone exploiting MMA's weakness that has always been there. At the end of the day, MMA is a great player and this is just another hiccup for him on his way to become an even greater player. true, i love mma but his weakness early game really showed. he never got his macro rolling and was always limited to 2 base. polt had great timing attacks and early MM aggression that put MMA behind nearly every game. seriously, I saw MM run up into MMA's main in the three first games. Ran up untouched.....no defense for MMA. Yea, I feel if MMA can polish up his early games, play a little less risky, he would be so good once he gets into the late games. His late game mechanics is really out of the world; like his ability to multi drop harass, seige line positioning, when to charge in with marines, etc etc.

I just wish there would be a final that goes to game 6-7 and the matches are back and forth and overall fantastic, instead I keep inviting people over to watch on the TV and it turns into this welp that solves that kinda thing and everyone just leaves as quickly as they arrive. stupid gsl finals curse

Well, Polt and MKP can share a fanclub then PP

I really feel for GOMtv, the hype around every GSL finals is always very high. The games up to the finals are always good, and they know how to put on a show. But then the finals happen and it's always sad, regardless of who wins, because it's always very one-sided. It's even worse when the finals of a non-GSL special one-week tournament are far better than the 100K tournament.
Oh well, great play by Polt.

Yea totally. From now on they should just hold GSL semifinals parties instead.

I think they'd better use different tournament format like winner/loser bracket.

Polt may have won respect for winning the super tournament, but that's not the same thing as winning the love and adoration of fans. Polt played well, but until he plays inspirationally he won't have a particularly large fanbase. Nestea was the consensus best Korean Zerg ever since GSL2, but it wasn't until his jawdropping, nerdchilling series against anypro and sC that he became hyper popular. In fact Nestea's fanclub was only made after that semifinal against sC iirc.

Yeah, although it's possible to have double elimination with longer series in the later rounds, if the aim is an exciting final, double elimination is actually the last format you want. Double elimination finals are only exciting if lower bracket finalist is able to at least take the first set. In practice, it's usually a complete stomping by the winner bracket finalist.
