Maybe not after this qualifier, but how about a couple of seasons? The weakest players from the first two seasons will thin themselves out. I hope once someone is handed $50,000, more players around the world will start to take the tournament and qualifiers a lot more seriously.

Seeding in a tournament which has an entrance fee and which has no previous results to base the seeding upon sucks. MLG did the right thing to not seed people like thorzain high in the open bracket just because he won TSL. If it is a free tournament I don't mind arbitrary seeding, but when I pay for something I expect a fair playing ground.

If its based on ladder thats OK

Seeding should be TLPD international Elo imo. Meh, just read through the rules again, guess I can't play TT gl to those who play =p

Definitely should be TLPD Elo rank, since that takes into account just about every tournament. Using ladder wouldn't be as fair but would still be better than no seeding at all.

I am curious about the scheduling. I'm looking at a week-long tournament that I would love to participate in, but personally, I would have major work-related scheduling issues. I'm sure I'm not alone in this? (not necessarily work-related, but other commitments in general). Will there be any allowance for rescheduling? I'm sorry if I missed something about this in the rules...

Week long tournament with matches everyday at 1PM? North American Star League my ass. 2. No information on seeding besides "it'll probably be seeded." Seeding in a single elimination tournament with top 8 spots qualifying is insanely important. 3. Clashes with Dreamhack. This. A $10 fee isn't likely to be a major obstacle for the people who have a shot at this tournament. But colliding with Dreamhack is a huge deal, since most of the top European players and many of the top non-European ones are going to be at DH, and the non-flexible play schedule makes it worse. Xeris said he'll take care of the seeding and the collision with Dreamhack, though, so hopefully that'll be resolved. I would hate to see NASL end up with half-assed qualifier(s) since this is a 10+ week league and we'll be seeing these players a lot.

(23-26th of June) Everyone's playing from TaKe's house... shouldn't be a problem to play 1 bo3 per day :p Also... there's not much we can do about rescheduling to be honest. The Grand Final is July 8th. The player who qualifies needs enough time to make arrangements to get there. Despite the fact that nobody likes to make a decision about what tournament to play in, the current situation is such that players can't play in every event despite wanting to.

About resceduling: Please take a look at Pokebunnies post On June 09 2011 11:37 Pokebunny wrote: Is there any way that a round can be personally rescheduled with your opponent? I've got a final exam on Weds the 22nd.. does this mean I can't play? :/ I can play every other day, or later that day. Seeding should be TLPD international Elo imo. Meh, just read through the rules again, guess I can't play TT gl to those who play =p He is already signed up as I can see from you binarybeast page. So perhaps you could work something out in special cases. I mean the OP states The tournament will take place the week of June 20th - June 26th, with approximately one round per day! There must be place to rescedule. He might not have tried to contact you (very young ![]() Edit: v (daaamn, where are you "downarrow") you might be right round of 1024 of course would take more time than ro 2. But I don´t want that one of the really rare known players can´t play because of scheduling problem ![]() ![]()

![]() On the plus side, it looks like Thorzain and all of Team EG are going to end up in Season 2 ![]() I'm personally rooting for Pokebunny to qualify. I remember catching him on InControl and PainUser's streams, and being impressed. One guy I hope to see is Spanishiwa. I'm pretty sure Spanishiwa is on the West Coast -- I'm a little surprised he hasn't thrown his hat in the ring yet.
