We will be moderating harshly in this thread. Think twice before you post. Things we are watching for: image macros, balance whining, "eagles", player bashing etc. We encourage civil and reasoned critique of our moderation - please post it in the website feedback forum. Please don't complain about MLG stream quality or MLG itself. They work very hard to provide you with an enjoyable service. Enough with the racism discussions, this is a LR Thread. Cut it out. -- updated 7:55 KST

Those guys live in pretty shabby houses without much privacy or peace to themselves and have ridiculous training routines and aren't given a great deal of liberty by their coaches, generally speaking. Is it possible to lead a balanced lifestyle AND be as good as the Koreans are? I'm not so sure. If you're willing to sacrifice everything just for the sake of SC2, then sure, yeah you can be as good as the Koreans if you train properly... I may be wrong but think about how hard Idra has been training to be roughly on par with the best Koreans, how many other foreigners are willing and capable of going through that? Is it possible to lead a balanced life style while being a pro nhl hockey player? Is it possible to lead a balanced life style while being a pro race car driver? Is it possible to lead a balanced life style while being a pro tennis player? etc.etc.etc. I think you get my point. If you want to be the best in the world at something, it'll take quite a bit of sacrifices.

Such a shame huk didnt attend MLG I think it's pretty obvious watching the games that the level of play that MMA showed today was leagues ahead of what he showed against Huk not saying that foreigners can never beat the koreans because obviously they can, but in general skill level they are behind

Such a shame huk didnt attend MLG mma didn't scout a proxy 4gate and died in 5 min, great build by huk but it doesn't say as much as you want it to. having a nifty proxy build for one game doesn't win a whole tourney

MMA played great but also made a bunch of silly mistakes today (not completing a wall-off). and he unsieged right after...pretty sure that was the WTF did i just do, oh no stop! moment. he was probably focusing on a drop or something You can clearly see that the killing CC was a shift clicked queue so he probly missclicked the CC, and after he had queued unseige and abit move commnand. If you watch the clip again you see, when he moves his army again you see his reaction. Cause normally you can just right-click the rocks, but if you queue stuff upp you have to a-click the rocks meaning you can acually missclick the CC and kill it.

Poor decisions by MMA, not HuK. Give credit where credits due. HuK was the better player that day. It IS something to consider. I agree with a previous poster that MMA looks to have shown considerable improvement since then however.

Except if your name is Thorzain (TSL vs MC< when MC was in Europe), HuK, IdrA, etc. Yes the top 10 or so Code S players are a bit ahead of the best foreigners, but they can still take games off them, and the next level down of players are not world's ahead. If that was FOXLyn instead of MMA, I think IdrA probably takes him out. If that was Sangho instead of MC, Naniwa probably takes the win. etc.

And other times some mental practice and so on, but i still have time for alot of other stuff, i play starcraft 1-2 hours a day for instance, and i seriously think that Starcrat 2 professionals practice alot more then a sport-professional, however, i seriously doubt spending more then 8 hours every day infront of a screen is far from healthy Then tennis players have it easy. As a pro swimmer at the age of sixteen i had ELEVEN two hour training sets a week. So 6-8 every morning and 17-19 every evening. And that we hadn't even started gym training or mental work.
