FXOWolf brought up this point on twitter after it happened: @FXOWolf: I think IdrA lost as in "misplaced" his drones from the drop. He pulled like twenty onto one extractor. Maybe that's why he left?..
speculating that idra thought the drop killed all his drones, when they were actually all at his extractor.
who knows though. the mind of idra and his gg sense are certainly an enigma

uh no. it's not like all 20 drones disappear inside the extractor. ALSO, putting all your drones onto extractor is a good trick to keep your drones off to one side.

Wouldn't go that far. A few of the foreigners had really close series with the koreans. They're ahead of us but to imply that lag is the deciding factor in inter-continental tournaments is pretty silly imo.
they are far ahead bro. 1, 2, 3 are all koreans. over 200 foreigners competed, and yet the 5 koreans that came from korea took 1, 2, and 3.
I would like to raise a point about life balance with professional starcraft.
With other physical sports, there is a physical limit. Anyone who has ever weight trained as an example will know that if you continue to train yourself without rest, your body will blow out and you will be less effficent. Same with basketball, hours and hours of game time, but there is physical limit where if you keep practicing it will detract from your ability.
The limit for Starcraft is a mental one, and thus the time to train before it doesn't have any benefit is considerably larger. So if you can practice 16 hours a day as your limit, then everyone else is going to be a disadvantage if they don't train 16 hours as well.

you missed the point. Wolf was just speculating that idra may not have noticed all his drones were at his extractor and thought they were all dead from the drop.

again, we don't know, but just an idea.
I tought this as well.
Also the fact that they are on the extractor means they won't show as idle workers.

And who says that that is a linear trend? As in, if the Koreans had sent 20, the whole top20 would have been Korean? That seems to be what you're implying.
The 5 guys sent over now were some of the best Korea has to offer. Meanwhile, quite a few of the 200 foreigners competing were barely master league. I'm sure you have a point, but that example is absolutely meaningless.

also have to consider idra did not see mma destroy his own command center at gold. so he had to rpesume that was being mined the entire time and mma had a big army waiting to roll out after he threw away his forces in the middle.
Hey is game 3 of Losira vs MC in the VOD not working for anyone else? The audio cuts out and the screen freezes yet the timer on the video keeps ticking.

I think Wolf is right. Look at the end of the game in this video. Right when Idra GG's, you can see his natural where it looks like the nat is completely empty. But after he leaves the game, all those drones that were stacked up on gas, pops apart and you find out, that's where all the drones went.

wow my bad! wtf. okay possibly. but I put all my drones on extractor when half my mineral line is under tank fire or other harass. I doubt idra mis-clicked on the extractor, instead he did it on purpose to save his drones from marine fire. but what do i know.

And to be even more crushing on the facts, The koreans that were eliminated were eliminated by other Koreans. Losira > July MC > Moon Losira > MC MMA > Losira
This is why MLG/GSL partnership is good, the rest of the world now gets more chances to compete against the Koreans and learn a lot from it. Even though we kinda get crushed in the learning process
