We will be moderating harshly in this thread. Think twice before you post. Things we are watching for: image macros, balance whining, "eagles", player bashing etc. We encourage civil and reasoned critique of our moderation - please post it in the website feedback forum. Please don't complain about MLG stream quality or MLG itself. They work very hard to provide you with an enjoyable service. Enough with the racism discussions, this is a LR Thread. Cut it out. -- updated 7:55 KST

Anyone who has ever weight trained as an example will know that if you continue to train yourself without rest, your body will blow out and you will be less effficent. Same with basketball, hours and hours of game time, but there is physical limit where if you keep practicing it will detract from your ability. The limit for Starcraft is a mental one, and thus the time to train before it doesn't have any benefit is considerably larger. So if you can practice 16 hours a day as your limit, then everyone else is going to be a disadvantage if they don't train 16 hours as well. That argument doesn't work anymore as foreigners have team houses too and they're progamers. That's all they do. The reason why koreans seem supposedly better is because they're competing with better competition overall and that's what's making them better. Foreigners have top tier talent too but they're few and far apart, and those talents barely get good practice matches. But there's a lot of players in Korea that know each other, practice with each other even though they aren't the same teams and etc. Also some of them played starcraft from the broodwar days... All that experience is what's making them hardened players.

The koreans turned up the heat for sure!! Although I personally hate idra as a personality, he is really fcking good. MC showing who is BOSS xD MMA simply sublime terran play. Truly Boxer's prodigy ^_^ Those drops and tank placements were mind boggling. Everytime Losira ran into MMA's defence, I thought MMA was surely done for.. but MMA somehow always seemed to have at least 2-3 tanks and a handful of marines left over. Drops to kill the spools was just epic gameplay. Now for some GSL time xD GOGO MKP, ALICIA!!!!!

Idra vs MC v2 were mostly pretty poor games imo. Full of idra rage and QQ. Clearly his head wasn't in it. Testbug game was pretty great though. Wish he would've turned back to roaches instead of trying to go pure hydra (wtf WAS that anyway? o_O) There's a topic in the strategy section listing games with interesting/new/tweaked/unique/special builds. Check that one out, most of the posters have decent instructions on how to find the game. Everything leading up to the finals was so exciting and really good though imo. On June 06 2011 17:15 Golgotha wrote: they are far ahead bro. 1, 2, 3 are all koreans. over 200 foreigners competed, and yet the 5 koreans that came from korea took 1, 2, and 3. 1,2,3 were all koreans when the koreans sent were clearly some of the best they have; furthermore, these koreans were all seeded into pool play which is a DISTINCT advantage for them. I mean, you wouldn't put machine or incontrol in a list of the "best" foreigner players, and they still made it pretty damn far in the tournament because of their seedings. Many of the foreigners competing were not even names you would recognize, a good number of them are not even on teams. I'd say the koreans that came over were better than most of the players at MLG. Naniwa, thorzain, Idra, major, and sjow can definitely compete with these TOP PLAYERS - and that's just off the top of my head. I'm not going to go through the open play and look for some names to jump out at me. Now immagine these players getting seeded into code A? I'm fairly certain nani, thorzain, and major (keep wanting to call him princess, thanks DJWheat) would TEAR THINGS UP.

And most importantly keeps out ridiculous rules like the extended events. Finals would have been much more enjoyable with a plain Bo5 than the ridiculous extended series rules, but I'm fairly certain MMA would still have taken it. Losira's ZvT style is just.... eh. I'm definitely hyped for dreamhack though. On June 06 2011 17:46 decemberTV wrote: would be really nice to know how many viewers MLG had over the weekend. And compare that to TSL. They tweeted during the event that there were OVER 2,000 LIVE viewers for the finals. They filled the main stage area, the second stage, and I believe they diverted some of the finished black ops/halo reach event space to broadcast the games. This thread also had 2.1 MILLION views by the time the finals had finished, so that's indicative of something.

Don't get me wrong I was still rooting for Idra purely as a foreigner, but in comparison to his first night builds, he played terribly on Sunday and let silly mistakes and such take over his gameplay and mentality too much.

So yeah if anybody knows where the vods for that are (pray there are some) that would be nice

With many people having two streams open at once and people watching Halo: Reach and Call of Duty: Black Ops as well/instead, then it would be an unfair assessment.

Also must be a pain not playing for like 3-4 hours then playing in the upper bracket :S Dude, July is used to it, he trains all day so MLG should be like a normal day for him

I don't think he has won many games in that matchup, so it's not surprising that he lost to Moon.
