We will be moderating harshly in this thread. Think twice before you post. Things we are watching for: image macros, balance whining, "eagles", player bashing etc. We encourage civil and reasoned critique of our moderation - please post it in the website feedback forum.

Please don't complain about MLG stream quality or MLG itself. They work very hard to provide you with an enjoyable service.

Enough with the racism discussions, this is a LR Thread. Cut it out.

Wouldn't go that far. A few of the foreigners had really close series with the koreans. They're ahead of us but to imply that lag is the deciding factor in inter-continental tournaments is pretty silly imo.

I just don't see how you can hold this position after yet another round of Korean dominance in a LAN setting.

IEM, all of Korea was at the top. This time they took top 3, with the other 2 Korean invites only getting knocked out by each other (July never dropped a set to a foreigner).

Meanwhile the Koreans play like crap (relatively) in online tournaments. It's not a coincidence.

Actually July dropped a set against both Sjow and Sheth.

A game, not set.

Now that Koreans are attending all major offline events everywhere, the foreigners NEED to step it up. Idra for example was telling everyone how much more money u could make living outside of Korea compared to the GSL. Turns out u can do both.
Even if the Koreans have to struggle through the online part of NASL. During the Finals they might dominate again.

Set = series not individual games. So he never dropped a set.

Losira/MMA
Losira/Naniwa
Losira/MC
MMA/July
Idra/MC (both games)
July/Sjow
Major/Incontrol

There were very few bad series, but those probably entertained me the most as far as I can remember.

Yep, they basically proved what a lot of us have long thought, that without lag they are still a cut above. Not to the extent in Brood War, but the harder work and practice they put in is paying dividends.

Can someone explain the Naniwa dancing thing for me? Whatever happened has seemed to have gotten lost in the premature egrackulation shitstorm.

And congrats to MLG for such a great event!

Basically Naniwa 4 gated against MC going for a DT rush. Got his stalkers/zealots inside, was generally ripping MC but failed to scout the dark shrine (just barely missed it). So as MC is warping in a DT on a proxy pylon to go into his base and kill all his probes Naniwa made his zealots in MC's base dance before he actually had won. Not more than 20 seconds later DT's are ripping him to shreds.

Naniwa essentially 4gated MC, thinking he had a win in the bag, he prematurely danced his zealots in MC's base. If he'd literally moved those zealots a centimeter forward instead of dancing, he would have seen MC's just then finishing Dark Shrine. MC warps in DT's - gg.

You forgot MMA/Idra which is going to be a very talked about game for a while.

I highly recommend watching Game 1 in the overall finals of MMA/Losira. My body was not ready for that game.

Oh.. I'm sorry then! Thought "set" would stand for a game/map..

Yes and I for one am glad that Koreans roflstomped the western scene.

It goes to show that the Korean model of team houses and hard work pays off even in SC2.

I was afraid that the improvement to UI and simplifying/improvements of game mechanics would put the skill ceiling a bit too low so that even players not practicing in that way could compete with them.

Also it's great that tournaments in this early life of SC2 already becoming global.

Western scene will only learn and get better with each MLG now that they know what they are up against!
