let's not forget that the buffs protoss received in pvt were a cost decrease of upgrades that isn't even enough to produce one extra unit at the 10 minute mark and a 0.5 radius decrease of emp.

translated, protoss buffs were minor as fuck absolutely not gamechanging. the metagame shifted a fair bit, ok. but we're still one month and 2 minor changes away from the time when protoss' were in a terrible situation in code s and there still isn't one single pvt specialist in existence. hell best example would be mc or oz whose recent series were often shameful vs terrans.

just sayin cuz ppl are starting to act like tvp would be impossible now for terrans. which is laughable.

It's very possible for terrans to win, especially with tech builds that gives an econ-advantage. But you can get to a stage in the game, when the armies are 200/200 (and the protoss can build up an unlimited amount of warp-gates) where the potential of the P army is a lot higher. Bombers macro TvP-style has all but disappeared.


yeah i know what you're talking about. my favorite stream is polt's who seems now to only lose games on ladder to late game protoss despite him being well known for his tvp.

still ppl are exaggerating about tvp. the matchup is very balanced and it hardly changed with the patch. those unlimited-warpgate-times come at 20+ minutes game time.

Can't say it was. It's always been a part of the game and players adept to it. The only real problem was the experience book on maps such as twisted meadows.

On early tier2 tower rushes on small maps such as AI, yes. It's the most helpful neutral hero to get in a situation like that.

He got his BM in a bad position early and lost WAY too many hp in creeping. AND he didn't catch sky creeping in 7 o'clock camp. Then Sky just executed his trademark tower rush with brutal efficiency

it's a huge problem. you can check the items on your opponent's heroes so you can actually plan around what they find but some items are pretty imba like experience tome.

WC 3 could've benefited a lot from using custom maps instead of Blizzard maps as far as balance goes. But the way the scene developed it didn't end up that way.

lol reminds me of all the times i kept getting destroyed by the damn tower rushes on ladder back in my wc3 days


honestly what i started doing against those tower rushes is i made a ring of burrows around my base with the production buildings behind the burrows. but still its super hard to stop. a counter could be to get a quick catapult (siege unit) right at tier2 to deal with the towers and the catapult deals lots of damage to footmen as well

You can never let a human get level 3 that fast on maps like that. The whole reason to his loss was his desicious to put pressure on the base instead of keeping Sky's hero in check.
