Interesting, While I do agree that lower level players cling to the word of pros too much; Nesteas victory over Inca was 1 part "being a better player" and second part "finding a great timing". It didn't help that Inca used the same build for the first 3 games.

People get angry about GSL onesided finals, but know that this not only happen in SC2, it also happens in BW.
The last OSL final which we had was a clear 3-0 victory and was very much onesided.

It also happens that people get to the finals with a fluke, when Best fought July Best had a relativly easy route, SC2 is no exception to this. Sometimes people just get hard opponents all the time and others get easy opponents all the time. This is no different from even the World Cup, The Netherlands in the World Cup reached the finals, yet we had a relativly easy road until we met Brazil somewhere along the way.

These things happen outside SC2 aswell.

Besides, we finally see that Zerg can be aggressive aswell in the game, mind I remind you that Bisu vs Saviour was heavily in Saviour his favour, yet Bisu at that point came up with a build that swept away Saviour 3-0.

Was it lopsided?Yes, however it has become the new standard of PvZ.

The game evolves, is that not all what we want? You can't expect topnotch games all the time, especially when the game is so new.

Agreed. Its just that before this, we had one-sided,non inspiring finals as well. Except GSL2, we never had a close finals, so i guess its quite frustrating. Its frustrating for gom as well, trying to hype up,production etc only to have it end dissapointingly.

haha, well the OSL I just mentioned was held in a stadium, tens of thousands of people came to watch, and what?a 3-0 sweep? .

I guess it is sad that we get another onesided finals, but once the game has evolved more it will mean that we get more close games, baby steps to better games people, baby steps.

Hey guys, just so you know the new strategy that wins is using the same build over and over until the opponent thinks you're too #$@$ stupid to do it again.

Oh wait no it isn't. InCa... I have no idea what you were thinking but you are god awful at fighting against Zerg. How much does this guy practice? Zero hours a day?

This was a really horrid series for a final -_-. IMO the real final's series was SC vs NesTea, now that was a brilliant series.
Every misfortune is a blessing in disguise.

The DT build was tailored to counter roach - ling aggression vs 3 Gate expands. And I'm sure its quite popular over there at the IM house when protoss players help Nestea practice. But you are right, going for it 3 games in a row when your opponent has clearly anticipated it is like beating your head against a brick wall. The only other option is a void ray opening, kinda wish Inca mixed it up and tried that. But yeah, Nestea the FAR better player.

Probably would be easier to cut him some slack if inca wasn't talking out of his ass for the past couple of weeks acting like the only reason he wasn't winning the last 3 GSL finals in a row were due to some terribly unnatural causes.

Yeah maybe next time Inca could try not wasting his first 600 gas into DTs that don't do anything. Then it wouldn't have looked so one sided.

in BW, after the Ro32, they seed the players in the brackets based off of their ELO right? Perhaps they should start doing that in GSL :o Maybe that will even be part of how they're changing the tournament format like they announced! That way it does a better job at evenly dividing player skill amongst the brackets, and you don't have that random chance where a lesser player has an easy route to the finals.

No!
In one single league of BW, called the MSL, the seed the players based of their KeSPA rank.

Not true,
MSL gets seeded based upon previous performance in the last MSL.
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=210590

Notice how all the seeds are Zerg and 3 Protoss, last MSL was an all Zerg Ro4, we had no Terran seeds at all, not even Flash. Flash might be high in ELO and in Kespa Rank but at the end of the day he was knocked out of the MSL before getting to the Ro8(Ro8 claim a seed)

If you fail to get to the Ro8 then you need to play qualifiers, just like everybody else who did not reach the Ro8.

my fault. i thought people would read the quoted bit AND my response to it. i should have known better.
we were ofc talking about the REseeding in the higher branches of the tourney
All what KT currently needs is a Zerg and a second Terran

Zerg isn't OP. If anything, these games showed that they are completely playable in today's metagame.

Well i think the basis of that conclusion is that Nestea has showed great games consistently against the best players in the world, showing that he actually has a large amount of skill.

Inca on the other hand is a little less known and when you see an unknown player cheese, i mean do a timing attack, you draw the conclusion of a bad player.

Except people always say zergs are great when they do 2 base timings and always call terrans/protosses bad when they do the same especially if they do it vs zerg.
