Darkforce vs Incontrol G2 basic summary.

+ Show Spoiler +
Darkforce vs Incontrol G2

Shattered Temple

Darkforce spawns 3:00 position, Incontrol Spawns 9:00 position

The game starts off with a little bit of chatter about microing drones.

Darkforce goes for gas first again then pool, while Incontrol gets a 14gateway.

Incontrol gets his zealot before second gas while Darkforce spends his first gas on zergling speed.

Moman expands as Incontrol's second assimilator finishes.

Incontrol makes 2 more gateways, and a 3rd as the scout leaves his base

Darkforce makes a roach warren.

Darkforce makes his lair as Incontrol starts his expansion.

Incontrol moves out to the natural expansion with 6 sentries and 2 zealots, sniping the queen losing a sentry and some zealots.

A pylon goes down outside darkforce's base as Incontrol keeps warping in units from his 4 gateways.

Incontrol backs off and Darkforce takes the chance to kill the pylon as well as the gold rocks.

Incontrol builds a forge as Darkforce starts burrow.

Darkforce continues to make a lot of drones and take out destructible rocks as Incontrol takes a defensive position and starts a robotics facility.

Darkforce starts roach speed as well as his third hatchery as Incontrol starts +1 groud research

A spire starts for Darkforce after seeing the robotics facility with a scout zergling.

Darkforce burrows zerglings around Incontrol's third base to deny the expansion.

Mutalisks start while Incontrol makes his first collosi and gets range.

Darkforce starts his 4th base at the 6:00 main and harrasses Incontrol's main with mutalisks.

Inc starts a twilight council as Darkforce attacks into the cannons defending Inc's third.

Blink research starts as well as a dark shrine and melee ground attacks.

The mutalisks continue to harrass and kill pylons, supply blocking Incontroll.

The mutalisks dance around the protoss army, trying to avoid a confrontation.

Incontrol makes a pylon in the middle of the map and starts to move out to the middle.

Mutalisks attack the main asIncontrol starts to push into the zerg third.

A basetrade starts, the forge is picked off before the ground army attack upgrade is finished. Incontrol's base is being devistated by the zerg units.

Incontrol has no probes left and he moves back to defend. The sentries are focused down and then the stalkers. Incontrol has no more anti-air units and is just finishing off his base with DTs.

Incontrol starts making more probes as his three immortals clean up zerg buildings.

The mutalisks kill all the immortals.

With only 10 supply and his base under seige, Incontrol GGs.
Survival is winning, everything else is bullshit.

Shouldn't have lost so many sentries to 1 spine crawler at the start. :/ He should have won the game right then and there..

Great play by darforce. Incontrol didn't stand a chance in that game, after the first push.

Incontrol's should have won with his 4 gate but had poor sentry control, attacking the roaches on the ramp with them and losing about 4 sentries needlessly + missing ff's = deserved to lose

very strong play from incontrol, good decision making throughout the game, knowing darkforce had no corrupters his counterattack was extremely effective.

Inc was completely outplayed, his macro wasn't even close to Darkforce's. He got back in it because the Protoss ball is sick and he did some DT cheese. Mechanically he was so far behind Darkforce.

DT cheese? WTF? That is strategy.
Eliminate detection then using cloaked units is a strategy, used in this real time strategy game

Mechanically behind? If the zerg doesn't have more units than the toss it is the zerg who's mechanics are lacking, not the other way around.

I don't even......

Yeah, the classic get 70 supply behind your opponent, snipe all detection and then spam DT's build. Smart strategy from Inc. No idea why I've never seen MC try it.

So he was way behind and came back to win? Where I come from people are praised for that.

'Oh you were nearly dead and managed to harrass and inch your way back to a decisive win? WHAT A NOOB LOL'

Essentially he played awful and almost got a vey lucky break and won, but he didn't and lost anyway.

calling incontrol's dt usage cheese is really stupid. calling a zerg's burrow usage cheese when they know the protoss doesn't have sufficient detection would be stupid. same for if a terran player decided to use banshee cloak in similar situations. same if a protoss brought a mothership out at a good time or managed to get rid of the enemy's detection for a bit.

Why the hell do people take that as the third? The gold is more beneficial and safer

It's in the corner and easier to defend.

Being extremely far away from your main base and having an extra entrance is safer?

Not just about the distance, it's just not as easy to pierce in between the bases and leak units backwards.

If you keep your army right between the gold and your second, how the hell will they pierce? If they harass your main you are going to be far away from your third either way, but you'd be closer with the gold atleast

Darkforce played amazing this series of game awesome!!, can't wait for CrunCher vs July!!
With an average game length of 7m36s over his 6 games in GSL3, this is a no-brainer. BitByBit pulls more SCVs than yo momma at a club on Mar Sara. ♞

Completely outplayed. Even after the gateway pressure Darkforce managed to stop Inc's 3rd so many times that he just powered ahead with his gold base.

Incontrol without his gimmicks (DT's) is just average compared to top players.

Love seeing balanced players beating cheesey or gimmicky players.

Restores some of my faith in SC2.

gimics? when a base trade situations looks like its happening DTs are pretty much standard, incontrol took out the capacity to detect and therefore went for cloaked units. they worked and did a lot of damage. it was an excellent decision

Not disputing that it was a good strategy.

However incontrol wins more games agaisnt GOOD players with gimmicky play, rather than balanced play.

I doubt there is a high rated toss that uses dt's more than him.

There is a reason for that.

Because he was so "gimmicky" against ensnare and qxc and everyone he beat to get 4th at mlg... stop hating and give the man his due.
Just stop. He doesn't do gimmicky play, he does builds and play that punish his opponent. Just like in MLG against TLO, when he built the pylon in TLO's base. You call that gimmicky, I call that punishing the opponent for making a mistake.

You can call it whatever you like.

My point is that he loses to GOOD players way more than he wins when he plays standard balanced play.

When he uses gimmicks or cheese he tends to win.

This makes him an inferior player., albeit still a good one.

Of course he has lots of followers so my views will not be received well.

Don't have much respect for incontrol but at least he is gracious in defeat.

Good to see the superior players winning.
