Music and sound level normalization are my biggest gripes production wise. The commentary I was half a fan of and I hope they improve with time. I can watch this live and I can't stream at anything above 480p due to my shit internet connection so I am unsure if I'll buy a ticket for this or not. (I can't watch GSL live most days so I buy the ticket for the VoDs). The actual production values are not bad, but lackluster games and biased commentary as well as constant commercial interruption (I realize you need to make money, but the sheer number of them was a bit out of hand) don't impress me. NASL is probably something I'll see if I happen to have time, but no way is it worth the ticket price for this level of play.

Honestly though, while the lag was somewhat gamebreaking, it wasn't like morrow was at any point obviously behind and lag saved him. He played perfectly to counter the stuff rainbow was doing, and the lag just made it a little better. There were plenty of mistakes on rainbows end that couldn't be attributed to lag. Opening his wall, cornering his marines etc. As many problems he had that could be attributed to lag, there were problems that couldn't. So the difference was instead of morrow holding and winning barely, he dominated. Even without lag, it's pretty evident he would have still won.

I dont plan on watching the rest of the action... 25 dollars is a bit much for vods and i cant race home from work to watch daily and i can't stand the 2-3 commercials in between games... i was shown one commercial back-to-back-to-back-to-back. i was really disappointed with the overall production and the commentating. wheres the pretty overlays? wheres the into videos? wheres the music? wheres any production? the set was pretty blan and the credits had the most production value. The spotter even seemed lazy and i was shocked they would show the in game screen with 12:30 PM showing. thanks for trying but ill have to check back in a few weeks, hoping for major changes.

Like in the Grubby matches, where they'd spend 85% of the time looking at Grubby, and the rest of the time looking at Moon

+ Show Spoiler + I dunno, I think MorroW doing the baneling bust twice was actually kind of fun, but not as fun as his macro =/ The casting was awesome. The games were awesome. That's like 80% of what makes something really really good imo. But it's short of awesome, in that the lack of music does seem to get to some people (including me), some of the oddness there was to the 2 screens, when it was trying to show the starting guys, and it just didn't work out until the very end, the audio syncing, when Gretorp and iNc were talking was SLIGHTLY off, which annoyed me for some specific reason... I dunno, when I think of something that has such a huge payoff, something bigger than the GSL, you expect the presentation -- specifically, the music had something to do with the hype. Just personally, it was silent, save for the two talking. Getting those transitions in would do a whole lot of good imo. Don't get me wrong, today was just awesome. So much fun to watch.

Re: all-ins, someone once said that "everyone goes all in at some point; a good player does it when he thinks it will win him the game". Morrow's apparently figured out when he can bust and do damage; can you blame him for seizing those opportunities?

so far though i'm not exactly impressed with any of the graphics involved with the league haha i don't mean to be picky, but... even the backdrop is their logo painted on top of... ridges which you can clearly see. it doesn't bother me much personally, but it's just a thought ii'm looking forward to the rest of the games and everything getting ironed out very soon !

[B] Honestly though, while the lag was somewhat gamebreaking, it wasn't like morrow was at any point obviously behind and lag saved him. When ur lagging u don't really know whats going on and and throws u off ur game rhythm. Also everything has a 1 second delay so the things we were seeing on our screen were different than what rainbow was actually trying to do. Lag screws everything up and u do things u normally wouldn't do out of desperation.

- No in-game music: For some reason, I tend to enjoy the games more when there's some form of quiet background music. But this is totally subjective and doesn't even necessarily rely on NASL for fixing it (can always have my own music running at a low volume). - The jump between sets were really pretty sudden. One moment the commentators are analyzing the previous series, and suddenly the next series is starting. Would definitely like there to be a pause or break of some form so that I can get up, go to the bathroom, grab a snack, etc. Just don't want to miss any of the action. - Maybe I'm just spoiled by the GSL, but the background that the casters were sitting in front of was kind of dull (of course the GSL having a fancy stage and colored smoke). Would like to see something a bit more vibrant or engaging (definitely loving the intro on that note). Again, all of these are just minor details and I'm not going to throw a fit if none of them get addressed. I definitely think they could make the production go from good to great though.

It's an insane amount. | ||
