NASL definitely wasn't bad, it was well organized and ran very smoothly. I would say a successful launch. There is still a ton of room to improve though. I don't expect them to be GSL quality with the studio and staff they have, but I hope they do up the production a bit. They should be doing music as transitions between games as well as making more exciting graphics and visuals. Eye candy is one of the things that can make NASL really shine. They need more of it!

You're entitled to your opinion. Even if it's wrong

The production quality was quite high for a first day of the event. Music and sound level normalization are my biggest gripes production wise.

The commentary I was half a fan of and I hope they improve with time.

I can watch this live and I can't stream at anything above 480p due to my shit internet connection so I am unsure if I'll buy a ticket for this or not. (I can't watch GSL live most days so I buy the ticket for the VoDs).

The actual production values are not bad, but lackluster games and biased commentary as well as constant commercial interruption (I realize you need to make money, but the sheer number of them was a bit out of hand) don't impress me.

NASL is probably something I'll see if I happen to have time, but no way is it worth the ticket price for this level of play.

you realize that with the ticket, you get zero commercials? i thought it was fantastic.

one of the few things i had issue with was the biased focus on ONE player. Like in the Grubby matches, where they'd spend 85% of the time looking at Grubby, and the rest of the time looking at Moon

I don't even necessarily care about commercials themselves, but the way they just pop up in the middle of the stream is what breaks it. Even in the 'joke tourney' MLG, at least their commercials are integrated to be in between games/commentary. I don't expect them to change this, and as I already pointed out, I thought the production values were fairly good. Just after watching Dreamhack, the whole thing seemed uninspired and boring to me. I'm certainly glad it's not quite as cheesy as Dreamhack/MLG though.

And no, I'm not spending money on something that is provided for free elsewhere, and I never will.

Super excited about all of this although only caught the last game, well played by Morrow, unlucky for Rainbow with the lag but I agree he should have asked for a pause.

BTW anyone know when the VODS will be online?

Since everyone's doing comments about the day here's mine - hopefully they help.

1. Production tabs need to be up more often - resources/income is pretty useless with the new obs features.

2. Gretorp gets loud way too much, either he need to tone it down or the quality of mic should be better to handle the audio spikes (it's much more ear shattering than any other tournament's 'shouting')

3. I might get flack for this...but it's probably too many games. 5 Bo3s can stretch for quite a while and 5 days/week, but I do give credit for synching it up as fast you guys did, putting the pregame in the start so that all 5 sets would be streamed closely.

4. Edit: small thing, I think in-game music is actually pretty important, it makes the casting more fluid with the dead space.

I have a Premium Stream since I work with MYM and I'm not going to lie, IT WAS THE BEST STREAM EVER. I swear, I could see the pores on Geoff's face. 1080p worked best for me and it never lagged once. The games kept coming and I was very satisfied Good job NASL, keep it up!

Agree with everything except 3. Nobody needs to watch EVERY match, and you can use VODS to pick and choose. No other pro sport allows everyone to watch every game...I think the abundance is a sign of progress here

agree... but I also think every korean progamer would do the same. No reason to disrespect the opponent for something like that.

1)its more fun this way,the element of surprise when seeing such an army would exist.

2)hes passionate, but I agree the mics are really bad,but telling him to stop yelling is the worst advice you could give him.

3)yeah maybe 4 Bo3 would do 5 is too much.

4)post game and pregame music would also be nice along with an actual scorecard.

Seemed like a solid launch.

The score overlay was missing a lot of time, though. Given that there's so many matches, and not many people will be able to pay attention throughout the entire thing, this is especially important.

edit: and in-game music is a must, or else I will go to sleep during the casts (terran of course)

Couple suggestions:
In game music.
Doing 5 Match 1's a day of the different divisions so maps vary.
Less terrorist training vid vibe in the "casting area" or w/e its called.
Got neurosis from Artosis cause you bunker rushed my heart GG baby, lets go crazy cause the game's about to start

Something needs to be done with the chat - I opened it for a minute to see a couple people spamming spoilers and it pretty much ruined my drive to watch the stream so I closed it.
