Dimaga is a great player, but NesTea has a way of making other zergs look a little average with his ZvZ play. He schooled Leenock pretty badly in the up/down matches. His build and defense when the banelings came in was spot on -- and that timing attack wasn't really that close. Basically, it seemed like Dimaga went for the same strategy as in the game vs. July (other than hatch first on Terminus because of the distance) and NesTea was expecting it and executed a strong counter.

Can't forget that Dimaga had already handled July earlier (although I don't think July's ZvZ is comparable to NesTea's), and was playing his fourth game of the day (including the epic disconnect match).

Also, Dimaga should be thankful for Mvp's drop, because he was almost surely about to lose that game. I like the ling/infestor strategy, but Mvp countered it extremely well with his tank positioning, and Dimaga was losing so much more every time he attacked the siege line.

If he had tried to do a nydus worm into Mvp's main (possibly with only the roaches, or with some infestors to "fungal field" the choke), or if he had transitioned to mutas after the first attack, he'd have probably been in a stronger position.

With so many zergs in the World All Stars team it was only a matter of time before Netea's ZvZ was unleashed upon the world

Glad to see it was pretty close though; i hope the Koreans took it a little more seriously this day though.. White-Ra taking down MC is pretty sexy to

the July - WhiteRa game on Scraps remind me of July - MVP game where MVP looks like manage to stop July's all in and do a counter attack only to find that July have so many units in his base

God of War ftw

a lesson from teacher Zinthar
can't agree with you in nestea's awesome zvz. Yes he didn't lose zvz on gsl tv yet. But it happens alot
and dimaga-mvp when game dropped dimaga has 3-3 200/200, mvp 3/2.5 200/200, half map on half map. So dunno really

Anyway will see today, who's better, when maps are known etc

Just finished watching the VODs. What an amazing match. A few observations.

  • White-Ra looks like he's having the time of his life (as usual)
  • Both teams looked relaxed and seemed to be having fun. Great atmosphere. Really the best you can ask for in a showmatch, Great sense of showmanship from both sides, yet the games were extremely competitive.
  • TT1 once again hunted down the probe but barely missed the pylon. That has to be frustrating.
  • Wonderful things happen when White-Ra builds warp prisms.
  • Just holy shit in general at that PvP. That engagement outside of Ra's base looked like a choreographed fight scene from a John Woo flick.
  • July and Dimaga played so well. HuK looked good at the beginning but July was just too much. Especially loved the BWesque muta numbers.
  • Little disappointing of a showing from Jinro. Something was off about his macro. He had no way of spending all that gas.
  • I wish they cut to a shot of Morrow after Jinro built his mega-wall.
  • MVP vs Dimaga was incredible. MVP was pretty firmly in control, but a re-game was the correct decision. Really the only blight on this event. A competitive 1v1 game should not have to deal with this, yet here we are again.
  • MVP's control is better than all other Terrans. Jinro and MKP come close with their Marine splits, but MVP micros like its BW. The 3 marines killing 4 spread out tumors, were commented on by Tastosis, but what really stood out for me was when he split his Marauders into 2-3 groups and kited individual Ultralisks with each one. It happened in either the second or third big battle in the middle.
  • Nestea just knows ZvZ.
  • Artosis looks like the ambassador of foreign Starcraft the way he talks on camera.

The best thing about this is we're not even done. This was just a friendly showmatch. Theres a whole lot more Starcraft to be played.

loved the games, loved the artosis speach @ the end and SO SOOOOOOO sad this event happens so rarely, everything was top lvl from the production lvl to the players to the casting (at the end even tasteless seemed alot more comfy standing ;-)). Cant wait for the games today hope they can bring me the same exitement.

Man, this thing was INSANE! I think the GSL WC might have been the most entertaining thing I've ever watched for e-sports.

White-Ra and Dimaga impressed me SO much. White-Ra may have only gotten one kill, but it was against MC, and the way he held off July's rush and nearly won that game was crazy as well.

Dimaga-- he was one of those names that always seemed to crop up, but I'd never really thought too much of him, and I don't think he's had any real achievements, but man, he looked like a MONSTER. His series against MVP was just crazy, and so much fun to watch. Even his loss to NesTea was a lot closer, I believe, than it looked. He just got caught by a sick timing.

Actually, TT1 impressed me as well, kind of like Dimaga he was one of those names that cropped up a lot but didn't seem to have any real achievements. But hey, the dude got two wins and looked good doing it, and there's no shame in losing to MC!

I hate to say it though, but I AM getting a bit worried for the Liquid guys. Between the TSL and this, they haven't been getting any wins. Jinro seems to never perform well unless it's a real GSL, then he just plays like a beast. I don't get it haha.

Could someone explain to me how the VODs on Gomtv work?

I'm at: http://www.gomtv.net/2011championship/vod/63894 , and that's 31:38 minutes long. How do I get to the other games? The 'set' buttons don't do anything.

I think Dimaga had a good chance of winning the disconnect game. He had around 12 mutas worth of resources saved up and the spire was half done. About 15 mutas against what MVP is almost certain to win.

Very late to respond but....

...infinitely THIS.

I've dreaded watching every PvP because of how constricted it is in build orders but this was a lot of fun to watch.

That game and Dimaga vs MVP series were the best of the bunch.

Also against the idea the MVP had game 1 against Dimaga, not only was Dimaga getting spire tech, everyone's forgotten that he also had drop almost finished, which definitely would have been gamechanging by bypassing the great wall of planetary fortress.

Bleigh!
Cant seem to get the VODs to work.. saw someone had similar problems on the GOM forums but no answer as usual..
Is there any way to get the vods in GOMplayer instead of the web-thingie? Maybe that would help.

Sorry for not reading through the 460 pages, but I dont want spoilers ;-)

maybe u have 'zoom level' higher than 100%? Buttom part where it says 'set 1' 'set 2' might have been cutt off or went undeath the page if u have higher zoom level.
