I'm disappointed to the Code S and A players in foreigners side. You expect them to better but the one who are outside of Korea pulled the team.

Hehe, this post made me smile after watching the ace match.

Nestea is such a god in ZvZ. Dimaga looked like random zerg guy from bnet ladder compared to Nestea.

Also so freakin sad that Mvp dropped. Was so happy to finally witness those BC:s. Was beginning to think they were a myth, glad to see they actually exist in the game.

Fantastic showmatch. Again it was a teamleague that was the best event. After each league I say the same thing: This was the best event so far.

You know, most of the foreigner victories were in the volatile mirror match up's: pvp and zvz and the fact that this was a show match means I still have my reservation on exactly how good the foreigners are. I guess we will see in the real tournament that starts tomorrow!

2. Sen and other foreigners say in an interview that they felt the Koreans weren't playing serious in Day 1

3. People proceed to say, "lol no, Korea was trying as hard as possible, they were shitting their pants"

... What?

Clearly Korea started out with their worst players (a term I use lightly because everyone in this tournament are among the best of the best in the world) and saved July, MC, MVP, & NesTea for last. I think the idea, in part, was to have guys like anypro, MKP, & San take out the entire World Team so that they could say that they wiped them without needing any of their champions.

I also think Nada was pretty surprised that he needed to play on day one and probably wasn't quite prepared for that (although I don't think the significance of that should be overstated because most of the World team flew in shortly before the tournament and likely had little time to practice too, and Artosis mentioned that WhiteRa was jet-lagged on day 1).

It's also very likely that MC was told he'd be put in against TT1 to start the day and so I would imagine that he was practicing that matchup beforehand (MC cares about his reputation and probably imagined himself all-killing the World team). And then July, MVP, and NesTea also must have figured there was a good possibility that they were going to be used and needed to be at their best.

I was soooo impressed with WhiteRa -- he's one of those guys who's a fan favorite but I never thought he was at the same echelon of play as the top Koreans, but then he took out MC with perhaps the most brilliant anti-4 gate strategy yet seen in PvP and would have beaten July but for not realizing that he still had a good economic lead after stabilizing. I think he has a strong case for being one of the top 5 Protoss players in the world (including Korea).

And then there's Jinro -- I feel like I see him use that exact strategy (15 CC followed by a 3 rax wall) in TvZ on all of the large GSL maps (he did it twice vs. Morrow in the TSL) and that he loses with it a lot. The strategy sounds awesome in theory, but then I think the Zerg has two strong options to kill you: 1) Baneling bust all-in (a la Morrow), or 2) Quickly grab a 3rd hatch and drone like mad knowing that the terran can't pressure you.

I think Jinro was expecting July to go for the all-in baneling bust and he built a beautiful wall to crush it. Instead July droned up, got an earlier than usual Spire, and the game was effectively over well before the final battle. I think Jinro has the sickest micro & macro mechanics among the foreigners and really could have taken a few of the top Koreans out, so it was a shame that he went out without really getting to put up a fight.

I think most of the top Terrans are struggling with figuring out how to play the new maps (see: IMMvp considering changing races) because early pressure usually fails hard (watching Mvp trying to first 2-rax and then 4-rax vs. Dimaga was just funny), and going for the ultra fast CC instantly eliminates the threat of early cloaked banshee, blue flame hellion drops, or marine all-ins.

Anyway, I digress -- great series.

It was particularly impressive to see creative strategies never before seen in Korean GSL (Ling/Infestor, 3 Gate Robo + Warp Prism (!!!)) used by foreigners to win games, as well as one-sided beatdowns (Sen v. MarineKing) and epic, grueling micro/macro victories (Dimaga v. JulyZerg). Really the whole gamut of victories, amazing storylines, and an 8-7 victory for the Koreans.

And perhaps above all, no BM, clearly a lot of respect between both sides, and a sense of walking among equals. I hope this is just the beginning of a fruitful relationship between the foreign community and Korean SC2 scene!

I know I am new fan of Dimaga (haven't see him before--other than Blizzcon that Genius won), he played soo good, in those game he showed amassing early zerg micro (the hardest micro ever when there is banelings around) and amassing macro game against MvP with many 200-200 battles, and then a crazy all in baneling bust, in the game against NesTea, had nestea missed the timing by 20seconds(if the were cross positions this would have easily happened) dimaga would have had his 1/1 to nestea's 1/0. I still really want to see infestors in ZvZ pro level play so I can see how they do it so I can fix the way I am doing it, it is working great for my Diamond ass ^^.

LeenockFou Vs NexCocA, Code A round of 16 i think, game 2 is all about them infestors. Yugioh vs Leenock as well.
Real mens play Zerg.. Startale fighting.

Sen Dimaga and TT1 sure showed good stuff outside of mirrors, and we've already seen enough from Jinro

Kinda ridiculous that the most solid players of the Tournament were Zergs. Dimaga, Sen, and July played very strong games.

Dimaga and Sen just got a new fan.

Makes me hope people really stop BMing players for playing Terran the "easy race".

From what i've been seeing recently from Zerg players like Sen, July, Dimaga, MonDragon, and other Korean Zergs, is that Idra's play is overrated. He's good don't get me wrong, but he's predictable. Idra simply just mastered mechanics in SC2 ahead of everyone else, but now that everyones on par he's not so special. I just don't know. He hasn't really played any games that really impress me.

All his games are 1)Droned to hard and get manhandled badly in a 1-sided game 2)Droned Hard, got away with it so i Rofflestomp you in a 1 sided game.

Wow what an incredible series! Apart from the disconnect during the game of the century it was so enjoyable to watch throughout, I think team leagues are the most exciting tournaments so far. That MVP-Dimaga game was amazing.

I have a question though: why is it not possible for the game to auto pause when someone drops and wait for them to reconnect? Or have some kind of LAN play? I really wish I could know how that would have turned out, have a feeling MVP was going to take it. The planetary wall was brilliant.

July made Jinro look a bit silly too there, completely outplayed him. MC vs White-ra was so good too, very tense throughout and some sick play from white-ra. Great to see that the foreign players can compete well with the Koreans, we need more of these events.

WhiteRa manhandling MC was truly beautiful. I always knew he was a great player but I wasn't a fan until today. It's about time his infamous Warp Prism harass came to light on such a big stage and in such a big way.

It's too bad the July/WhiteRa game went that way...if he had turned around instead of engaging who knows what would have happened.

Huk, Jinro and Moonglade respect the koreans too much. They fear the koreans.
You can't beat the koreans at their own game, you have to be fearless and think of strategy's not used on the korean server.

Too bad White-Ra can't go to Korea. He would be such a baller there. I agree with your statement Theo. HuK, Jinro and Moonglade played poorly for people playing in Korea.
Best event so far imo. Hope they do this more often. Screw solo leagues :o

This doesn't seem like a very fair assessment when all they did was play 1 player - Julyzerg.

Huk and Jinro have made Code S; that counts for something.

I thought White Ra said it was a 50/50 he could go to Korea and it would depend on his wife agreeing to go and his ability to find a house there?

Also it really seems like the roles were almost reversed. I think its fair to say a LOT of people expected Jinro/HuK/Moonglade to play better than the rest of the team because of their experience there. Well maybe not the rest of the team but TT1/Morrow at least (maybe Dimaga, I mean he did say he had never played in a booth before right?)

I'd love to see the whole team stay and am very suprised Gom hadn't put them in Code A for next season (if they could stay of course)

I'm just glad Zergs won so many because thread was relatively QQ free that way since some love ruining other LRs when they don't. As far as IdrA he should not be playing Zerg with his style of macro to 200 and attack - that's what protoss is made for - other players understand it's a harassment race.
