Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't. |

Moon - top WC3 player, did very well at IEM Fenix - Made TSL3, pretty strong Terran IMO Kiwi - top protoss in NA quite possibly QXC - dude is a beast, just needs to make sure to get practice time in which I imagine he will. Before he went to Europe for school he hit the top of the NA ladder I believe. DarkForce - one of Europe's top Zerg's Cruncher - In TSL3, been owning "The V", has been on top of NA ladder I believe KawaiiRice - Very good NA Terran, solid builds and I think he keeps getting better Haypro - Who on TL doesn't belong in this, seriously. Just won the Pax East posting wins over Tyler and TLO Naniwa - top Euro protoss, definitely belongs. He has been playing really well as of late too SeleCT - top NA Terran, obvious choice HasuObs - been really impressed with his play lately, just took down Huk too Catz - a lot of people seem to be questioning this, but he is a very talented and creative Zerg player. Mass queens in the NASL? Yes please. Also a fan favorite Idra - one of the best Zergs in the world, obvious choice Socke - great protoss from Europe, always impressed with his play ClouD - has been posting some very nice results as of late. Not as familiar with him, but can't argue with what he's been doing lately.
To me the obvious choices were: Idra, Socke, SeleCT, HasuObs, Haypro, Naniwa, QXC, Moon, and Kiwi.
The rest are still really good choices that will give us some great games and definitely hold their own.
Cruncher and catz do seem the only questionable ones in terms of results, i would say kawai aswell but hes been ripping it up in gcpl despite my opinion on him, being "creative" doesnt give you a right to be in a league where results and skill are the requirements, I do think there are other more deserving NA players that might not get a spot like moonan, sheth or even someone like lalush who has just won 2 major euro lans and a couple of offline tournaments just this month that might not get in

I don't want it to be filled with Koreans, but only ONE was announced among 15, some of whom are arguably not among the top players, even in their respective region. Like others, it is a little bit worrying that players like Darkforce (not even a top5 EU zerg in my book) can be invited where as some very good Koreans are cut. Well I have read many posts saying Darforce is top5, top3 zerg in Europe, so it is clear that each person has a different book. The NASL has reasons for choosing as it does, reasons that they need not even explain (if they do, good for them). I don't think you can name 5 better zergs than darkforce in Europe atm. Also I think it had been very clear from the beginning that NASL take more into account than just player skill so I don't understand how this comes as a chock to some people. Did they honestly think we would have like 40 Koreans or something? Why shouldn't it have 40 Koreans? Are they not 'The Best Players the World Has Seen'? I don't get it, it seems like you guys don't even want the best players, you just want a bunch of average (when being compared to Koreans) NA/Euros dont know why you even asking. that would be the same like why dont we just take the number one team in the baseball league, split the players into 2 teams and watch them play all day. obviously people want to cheer for the team from their hometown or they have some other history with. they want to cheer for people that they have something in common and can identify themselves with. Actually no cause sc 2 is an individual competition and the better analogy would be taking the best tennis players in the world and having 4 grand slam events or taking the best golfers in the world and having a bunch of major tournaments. However, that would obviously never work cause people don't want to see the best compete in more than 1 tournament. Wimbledon and the Masters is enough to satisfy those fans.
and I think the interest would be more narrow if they would be all from the same country.

already some invites i dont agree with =/
In fact aside from Select , Naniwa , Kiwi i dont really have any intrest in the other players like i wouldnt watch if they were playing against one another besides the players i listed.
dissapointed so far, although maybe these are the only north american invites and the rest are korean, that would be awesome lol :D
I do understand some of the other invites though, the ones i dont understand: catz, Kawaii Cloud, Cruncher (winning the v doesnt really mean that much IMO winning a tournament with 32 other top players does) and even Moon (there are sooo many koreans that are better that you could invite although he did well at IEM and has a huge Wc3 fan base , so i geuss so)

Let's list a few of the recent KNOWN PUBLIC issues regarding NASL.tv and its figurehead. We have the GosuGuide.com failure, the GosuCoaching.com failure in early September with "Louder", and the GSL restreaming fiasco. Then the NASL Voting system being hacked/compromised The NASL Announcement ShowMatch problem with huge synching Audio and Video.. and Blizzard's behaviour non-congruent with NASL claims they "insure and back" the $400,000 in prize money. and nothing but apology after apology after apology from NASL.tv officials.
There are usually more problems kept silent behind the scenes with any project.. even one that appears "flawless".
this said... "the future of eSports" does not rest upon the success of failure of this venture. TSL#3, MLGPro, GSL and IEM look pretty good to me and will carry eSports forward no matter whether NASL fails or succeeds.
The American Baseball League failed in 1893 during pro baseball's infancy. the sport did just fine until Roger Clemens are Barry Bonds started taking steroids

Pretty sure it would say Moonglade if it was Moonglade.
They don't write Kiwi instead of Kiwikaki either.

exactely this! i enjoy games from players i could cheer for (like tlo, grubby, moon, darkforce...) much more than games from some boring top korean players. so hurray for no GSL2 but a hopefully great league with a great balance between top level players and fan-favorites!

Stop whining about CrunCher and Catz.
#1 CrunCher's name is an homage to everyone's favourite singer Cher. How can you not cheer for that?
#2 Catz is the Gretorp of Zerg.
#3 Anyone that attempts to do blocks with proxy evolution chambers deserves to be in on this.

I like the invites so far about 90%. Should be exciting, hopefully they pull this all off with good production. It's hard to fault them, tbh.
I will be most interested in the lan finals as it will be really legit, no lag. etc.

It's pretty early to be bringing up people that haven't been picked yet. You can list 35 players and say "what about them?" but its not going to do anyone any good until the full list is out. Who knows, maybe all the questionable players have been announced, and the rest will be satisfactory to the over 9000 critics posting about nasl :D One could hope~

Ok one thing your wrong about is cruncher. He won a TL open to qualify for the TSL3 (that was like a 1048 player bracket)

I'd say Kawaiirice and Haypro are way more questionable than Catz and Cruncher. Kawaiirice had his epic streak going around early release where he was top 3'ing like EVERY small cup, but he hasn't really done much in a few months now. He's a good player but I don't think of him as a top 50 players (might be top 50 who applied, seeing as many top european players didn't make an application video which was a requirement).
Haypro......what do I have to say about him. He won the PAX invitational winning a 4 man tournament. We all know that pros are able to take games off of each other, Haypro is a good player but he is one of the least accomplished players on the list, doesn't have great personality to be marketing/displaying either, he's solid, but does he deserve a top 50 spot? I honestly don't think he does. He made Code S once and lost to BBBprime in RO64, then recently lost in code A after being invited, his best tournament placing was a 3rd place or something in that poker tournament thing in europe, and thats actually been it, pretty much since he joined TL in mid beta thats all he's seemed to have done, not even notable finishes anywhere else (He also did relatively poorly at MLG Dallas, I don't think anyone seems to remember THAT either, but he placed behind everyone else in team liquid, and well out of top 16 or 32).

Moon is not in MYM and that would be the korean MOON. WeMaDE.Fox.Spirit_Moon :D.

Remember when Artosis and Chill trolled everyone saying that BBBPrime was being invited to the TSL3.
I am sort of hoping that same is going on

There ya go!
I think we can consider Cloud (represents Italy) and Cruncher (represents Arab nations) are invited due to them being the most prominent programers from their respective countries. Can also include Fenix (represents Peru) to an extent. Don't know about the others who have not shown much results in terms of tournament wins. ClouDMakes sense as they are trying to reach out to every fanbase. Why are people acting as if ClouD was a total scrub? He's in the top 25 on the ladder looking at all 3 ladders according to sc2ranks and in the top 30 of the TLPD
I wouldn't have anything against Cloud being chosen if it wasn't for the inferiority complex shown in the "Koreans in the NASL"-discussion. Did not like his mindset at all, stating as a fact in caps that it's impossible to beat Koreans even though otherwise has been proven several times. Terrible attitude and the only thing that would make it true is an attitude like that.
Other than that I think he's good enough, and would probably have chosen him myself, but I think he has something to learn from other players about being a true competitor.
I don't really want to complain about the selections untill all players have been chosen and it turns out my favorites has been neglected. I'm missing 5 out of my top 5 favorites so far.
I'm happy that Socke and Hasu is in. Also Naniwa and Haypro since they're Swedish. Not too happy about some of the NA-guys but it's he NAsl so I don't think I really have the right to.
