RULES:
If we have more people than available computers: double elimination brackets from www.challonge.com
+ Show Spoiler +
(No matter how many players participate. Random placement between seeds of the same level, not in strict order of ranking).
All games - Bo3, except semifinals(Bo5) - including the loser's bracket, and finals(Bo7).
All games - Bo3, except semifinals(Bo5) - including the loser's bracket, and finals(Bo7).
If we have enough computers for people: group-style elimination:
+ Show Spoiler +
We use the ladder raking so that we don't get the best 4 players in the same group. We write each player name on a small piece of paper and put it in a bowl. We draw 4 papers (4 players) and put them into their own group. The TWO people with the highest amount of points advance further till the other groups are finished. After the first round of games is done, and every single player has played vs every other player in his division (4 person division) in a bo3 (basically a MINIMAL of 12 games per player rather than the standard 3-4 games in a double elimination), we repeat the process and draw a second set of groups of 4 with the remaining players. We do this until we draw out 4 players and seed them in a bo5 for the semi finals and then in a bo7 for the finals. OR we can go into double elimination after the group phase is over.
Disadvantages: Some groups will have 3 people while others 4, and this will amount for more games played (it will also take longer, but we have the full day).

No round should be played on the same map.
FIRST MAP: Each player takes turns to downvote 1 map each until there's one map left.
NEXT MAPS: Loser picks next map from the map pool as long as it hasn't been played so far.[/spoiler]

Ask me for a carpool - I'll look for a driver; There are plenty of drivers willing to carpool (including me), including to/from the Metra station. Parking is free at Game Pazzo. No outside food or drink. Game Pazzo has food inside. Smoking? Drinking, over 21, only at the bar?

FACILITIES:
+ Show Spoiler +
1 big area with XBOX, PS3, Wii, Rockband, Kinect, and 10 high-end PCs (5 and 5 along the walls of the same corner).
1 separate room reserved for us to set up our own computers.
Here, see for yourself: http://abclocal.go.com/wls/video?id=7999547
It is recommended (but not required) to bring your own PC/laptop. I will bring my PC for others to play on (my mouse and keyboard suck, so bring your own). If we have more players than available computers and you are using one of Game Pazzo's PCs, you may have to WAIT for your next game. You WILL be asked to relinquish your seat for others to play.
The 10 PCs are in close proximity to consoles (which can get pretty loud) - another reason to BYOPC. If you do BYOPC, it would be nice if you let another player use your PC if they need it.

OTHER RULES
+ Show Spoiler +
You can pause the game if there is a malfunction. The opponent is not to resume unless both players agreed through chat.
You can't play in this tournament from another location. You have to be at Game Pazzo in Downers Grove, IL.
You can't play the music out loud from your PC. Either use headphones or no headphones at all.
In case of a disconnect or any other unexpected event, I'll decide if the game needs to be replayed or one player was in a decisive advantage.

PAY-IN and PRIZES:
+ Show Spoiler +
$15 (cash/credit/debit) to a Game Pazzo staff. SPECIFY "FOR SC2 TOURNAMENT"! Keep the receipt. I am not a member of Game Pazzo, so I don't handle the money.
There is a legal issue that prevents Game Pazzo to give out cash prizes until the issue is worked out.
The $15 is an all-day pass to use the PCs. After the tournament is over, you can still use any PC. Usage of videogame console game is $1 more.
Prizes: TBA

TIME:
+ Show Spoiler +
The tournament starts Saturday, March 19, 1 PM, OR after I make the brackets.
At 1 PM, if you are not in the facility, you won't participate in the tournament (unless you notified me), even if you sent me email to register. It is strongly suggested to be there at 11 AM or your earliest convenience, so that you get familiar with the facilities, install your drivers, etc.
Exception - if you are running late, we will wait for you a reasonable amount of time (15-20 minutes). If you're late, Call me (773-679-8015) or Game Pazzo ((630) 541-8719) AND specify your name and SC2 nickname so we can wait for you.
TIMELINE RECAP:
*.) Register before Saturday March 19, 12:01 PM by email.
*.) Arrive at the facility between 11 AM and 1 PM. Pay the $15 (TELL THEM IT'S FOR THE SC2 TOURNAMENT). Install drivers, set up, get used to the place, get something to eat, play 1-2 games if it's not too close to 1 PM etc.
*.) I sort everyone in order of the ladder ranking AT THAT VERY MOMENT, no matter if your ladder ranking changes before you play.
*.) 1 PM - If everyone who registered is there, I make the brackets on challonge.com.
If someone is not there at 1 PM but told me they're late, I'll wait a couple of minutes.
*.) Once I make the brackets, I will notify Game Pazzo staff to stop all registration.
*.) Brackets emailed to everyone.
*.) Don't start playing until I tell you so. If there aren't enough computers, lower brackets go first.

IF YOU'RE ELIMINATED
+ Show Spoiler +
You can spectate, play anything else on PCs - already covered in the $15 (but each console game is +1$), go home, go at the bar, but you may be asked to relinquish your Game Pazzo PC for pending games. This is why BYOPC is highly recommended! There is no guarantee you will have a PC to play on after your games are over.
Only when computers are not needed by active players you can use them yourself, but be civil, don't clinch to one computer all day; let others use them if needed.
IF YOU WON your next game
You may be asked to relinquish your PC; wait for PCs to become available. Take a break, but don't go too far. If you leave the facility and I can't find you for 15 minutes, your next game will be lost.
