IdrA didn't even lose many hydra to colossus before they died, but hydra are simply just not good vs stalkers that 1. have blink, 2. are off creep, 3. have chokes, 4. have force fields.

I agree he should of got roaches, but only because it's the ONLY thing that would of worked. IdrA couldn't attack kiwi's third because zerglings can't fight cannons + force field, and hydra cannot do shit off creep... only roaches or mass muta can be used to counter greedy protoss..

You're ignoring blink. Normal stalkers get crushed by hydras, good blink micro throws all the math off. I don't think they're imbalanced though. Now that infestors deal extra damage to armored infestor/hydra will obliterate blink stalkers.

Idra needed either infestors or ultras, or both. And yes, ultras are great against blink stalkers. They both deal critical damage to them and tank lots of damage while hydras DPS. They actually force blink stalkers to immediately run away or die.
