You expected Squirtle to lose 3 games and needing 11 tiebreaker games to advance? Well, if you pretend that Moon is Squirtle and Squirtle is Moon for one day, that would remove the only surprise there is.
Yep, that's a clever way to wipe out surprises from existence, just pretending they're not there.

While moon is getting better, i'd dare to say that its hard to judge based on the competition hes facing in this tournament... seems like Squirtle has been completly off this week, maybe jet lag?.
Anyways, this tournament will be clearly won by ace, as there are only zergs left :D
+ Show Spoiler +Huk's 3rd game vs revival has to be proof of how broken the M/u is, even without Colossi. Templars force the zergs to only produce roaches (as hydras suck vs storm), immortals pwn the roaches, and blink stalkers kill the remaining of units. Late game broodlords completly get owned by blink stalkers, and ultralisk get owned by immortals with the help of tanking zealots.

Eagerly awaiting ^^ I missed the second tiebreaker series with "the 15 gas" Also, salutations to the guy who came up with the "It's getting late but I don't mind" Memories - David Guetta, that stuff was hilarious :D
Excellent tournament so far, although sometimes its hard to find out what games are on wich stream, with the scedule being a bit out of sinc
Ah well, was good fun watching some Quake Live.

I'm almost positive that in America they teach their kids Spanish or French in school. I mean my friend is over there doing just that. No need to get offensive about this, i've spoke 3 languages when i graduated 12th grade, and i was studying a 4th one, which i still do, it's common, in Europe at least, by no means am i specially dedicated to learning languages. I find it really strange Korean pros barely speak any english. My 4th language (German) is better then the english of most progamers i've heared. Actually if you care, you can explain why isnt learning English, or other foreign languages popular in Korea, instead of trying to be sarcastic If you wanna hear my FOB experience, here you go. I learned English in Korea about 7~8 years, and moved to United States for some bad reason. And, I could not speak any shit of what I learned in this country. It's not that I don't remember any grammar or vocabulary. It just doesn't come out of mouth because I am not sure if what I am saying is correct or not. And then what I knew suddenly wiped out of my head; and I become speechless. They don't teach us how to communicate in English; we learn to solve English problems. We are learning English to survive in Korean Society because Colleges Universities and Companies require us to know English more than Americans know; however, I never ever once thought that we are, at least I am, learning English to speak. you know, some people are able to apply what they learned. don't quite understand what u are trying to say by solving english problems. they teach grammar and vocabulary. if you are unable to form sentences with them then its your fault. and stop being so mad bro Solving English problems = taking English skill exam. You are in foreign country, and try to speak in their language, which has completely different grammars, letters, pronunciation, that you never used in normal communication. Think that is easy, huh? It is not easy as it seems, even though you have knowledge about the language.

Everyone in the playoffs (except Morrow who hasn't faced any) has recently been crushed in competition by a Korean-based Terran. There are probably a dozen or so Terrans in Korea who could have owned this tournament.

Seems a bit of a weird conclusion.

Some may overchieve or underachieve at any time, look at all the upsets there are.

Agreed. I also agree that a bunch of korean protoss/zerg could crush this. (Hint: thats what wer are seeing)
So far what I see from IEM...the guys with the GSL expierence doing good, and then Morrow getting by 1 game over White-Ra

Seems like I missed an interesting ending to the matches with that 3 way tie. I don't see a section for recommended games in the OP, so I was wondering if there are any games from today that can be considered "must" watch matches or a relatively entertaining match in general?

glad to see that squirtle didnt dominate as predicted. comes to show that maybe the skill gap between koreans and non-koreans isnt as significant

If he drops out of the tournament -> moonglade (if he drops out) -> idra (...) -> moon
I hope for an Idra vs Morrow final, it would be epic. Idra vs MorroW would probably be even more one sided than Ret vs MorroW at assembly. But at the sae time ZvZ is such a volatile MU that anything can happen.:s Either way I'd hate for that to be the final. Uhm, Idra and Morrow have already faced each other in this competition and it was far from one sided. It's almost impossible to be 1 sided in bane wars. It's like saying 4 gate vs 4 gate, where one person slightly wins over the other person, was a one sided game.
Are you agreeing with me or not? I don't really get why you quoted me here, I wasn't the one predicting something to be one sided. Also I wouldn't call the Idra vs Morrow games bane wars except one of the games possibly.

I went to ESL.tv and typed IEM in the search field under the VOD section ( I think, the entire page seems to be in german only) and I found 30+ pages of random VODs but the newest one was from Jan 27th "Drawing IEM World Championship Finals" :s
Am I missing something?

I usually read through the thread to get my questions answered...but 315 pages are a bit much...
Can anyone recommend which games were the best ones? Thanks in advance!

Damn I've missed all the matches, but from where I'm sitting I can see GSL's players performing really well! I'm also very surprised by Moon's performance, is he really playing that well? seems strange.

Am I correct in saying that the playoffs are the same time tomorrow?
