No need to get offensive about this, i've spoke 3 languages when i graduated 12th grade, and i was studying a 4th one, which i still do, it's common, in Europe at least, by no means am i specially dedicated to learning languages. I find it really strange Korean pros barely speak any english. My 4th language (German) is better then the english of most progamers i've heared. Europe has very high educational standards for learning foreign languages than the rest of the world. His objection makes complete sense with regard to American foreign language education. Every American child takes Spanish or French classes for years, and yet somehow almost no American adults can speak those languages.
So in that respect, I understand how the same can happen with Korean children and English.

5 out of the 6 finalists have GSL experience. I don't think that's a fluke.

Oh wow thanks a lot dude its much appreciated.

yes, THANKS!
I've been trawling for these too, IEM site SUX!
Any hints on how to find the ENGLISH casts (eg Day9) as anything off the central page seems to be German

just try to learn Korean or Japanese, soon or later you will realize why Koreans have problems with speaking English.

Fuck yea, Moon and MoonGlade going hard :D

Nothing suprising about the results. Everyone with GSL experience advances as expected (morrow being the only one without).
Best part about last night was moons domination. After all the shit people keep giving him it makes me giddy seeing him run over everyone.

Its just that the players who take themselves seriously as competitors try to compete in the highest levels possible, so its kinda obvious that in general the "top" players would have experience in the arguably "top" league.

Anyone knows who and when tomorrow is playing?

Awesome event! the games I caught were good, the production quality was killer, and day9 + TLO casting? Very cool!

Nothing surprising about the results? You expected Squirtle to lose 3 games and needing 11 tiebreaker games to advance?

I still cant believe Moon 5-0 his group. Im still in shock.

If he drops out of the tournament -> moonglade (if he drops out) -> idra (...) -> moon
I hope for an Idra vs Morrow final, it would be epic. Idra vs MorroW would probably be even more one sided than Ret vs MorroW at assembly. But at the sae time ZvZ is such a volatile MU that anything can happen.:s
Either way I'd hate for that to be the final.

There is a huge difference in language skills when you start crossing western and eastern language boundaries. Most Americans have limited language skills because if you don't have a good chance to exercise muscles they atrophy easily. Course, many other countries start their language curriculum much earlier and are more intensive than the US standards.

only two games tomorrow. Idra vs Squirtle (9.30 CET) Moonglade vs Morrow (11.45 CET)
There is an IFNG at 14.55 though. (TLO vs HasuObs)

Actually if you care, you can explain why isnt learning English, or other foreign languages popular in Korea, instead of trying to be sarcastic If you wanna hear my FOB experience, here you go. I learned English in Korea about 7~8 years, and moved to United States for some bad reason. And, I could not speak any shit of what I learned in this country. It's not that I don't remember any grammar or vocabulary. It just doesn't come out of mouth because I am not sure if what I am saying is correct or not. And then what I knew suddenly wiped out of my head; and I become speechless. They don't teach us how to communicate in English; we learn to solve English problems. We are learning English to survive in Korean Society because Colleges Universities and Companies require us to know English more than Americans know; however, I never ever once thought that we are, at least I am, learning English to speak. you know, some people are able to apply what they learned. don't quite understand what u are trying to say by solving english problems. they teach grammar and vocabulary. if you are unable to form sentences with them then its your fault. and stop being so mad bro
And you think you know better than someone who's experienced it first-hand because?

Well, if you pretend that Moon is Squirtle and Squirtle is Moon for one day, that would remove the only surprise there is.
