Well it will be a lot harder than this for July in Code S but I think that we can say that the God of War is back :D

Fun series. Especially game 1.

And about the new maps. I'd love to them more often, but this will change in just a few weeks anyway. So let's celebrate instead, that there are no more Steppes of War, Jungle Basin or Delta Quadrant games.

We only saw him win on Scrap which is considered to be a Zerg map. It's too early to tell if he's regained his skill yet. Still here's to hoping he actually does well in Code S.

July looked like he did amazingly, but he realistically had the game all but won when those four Zerglings were able to slip in and take up all of SangHo's attention allowing him to make an insane amount of Drones. Give anyone with any strategy that ridiculous of an economic lead and they're going to win almost every time whatever else they do.

No, only a Zerg could have used that opportunity to gain such a lead in worker count, no other race can just pump workers at the expense of everything else.

For sure, it was the fact that he was Zerg that allowed him to do that. I really think the new maps will allow Zerg to be on equal footing when they're able to take large economic leads earlier in the game. All I was saying was that the Banelings and Corrupters and whatever other things people are talking about weren't really all that important, simply distracting SangHo and getting a huge lead was pretty much what won him the game and nothing else really mattered all that much.
Did you ever say Yes to a single joy?

People saying the first 6 corruptors were useless are not thinking right, while yes it may have been overkill. But most of all it discouraged Sangho going for Collosi(the true bane of the Zerg as of now) while also shutting down any stargate phoenix/void ray play(Bar the 2 phoenixes I saw NO air units were made). Once collosi are out the Protoss can usually take a third, but Collosi were so delayed here(due to him opting for 2robo immortal). At this point July had an incredible massive macro advantage so that he could deny the third even if he had collosi.

Aside from that, I still think those 4 lings won him the game, but the corruptors were a good choice.

Actually Scrap is not easy to play on versus Protoss. But that ling runby decided the game.

as much as i would love to say this we cant judge yet.

as i said in the previous post the 4 lings decided it.

but what we can give july :

- perfect multitasking, lings never stopped moving for a second and nothing slipped in his main as far as we could see. constantly scouting with the corrupters etc

- very solid play/gameplan

- insane macro(maxing out in like 14 ingame minutes while researching EVRYTHING)

- hes july and awesome.

Killed all the zelots and hurt the stalkers, it worked fine. Its better on MM, but it worked there.

its really really strong if you got drop tech and the nest. the aoe is actually quite huge and unlike siege fire it deals the full dmg over the whole aoe.

now when you add how sick the P ball clumps up , P hp not recovering and sentries getting 3 shotted by banelings the dmg potential is HUGE for very little supply cost(OL full of banelings only costs as much as ONE roach ).

Yeah thats insane. I never really looked at the cost. Its 50min/25gas per bane.

But in SC2 with the increased clumping, its alot stronger.

exactly. doubt there is anything other then maybe a unfestor with a lucky mass fungal that has a bigger dmg potential in the Z army . esp for only 300/100 and 2 supply in cost.

He scouted the stargate and made them to preemptively shutdown phoenix play; then they have the added benefit of deterring colossus play too, and essentially let him set what direction the match moved in.

Fast spire is obviously risky though and the early ling harass really got him ahead.

I just noticed this but... is IM the only team where Zerg (and Protoss) is a majority O_O?

They're absolutely insane to not have Kyrix in there. He's ZeNex's shining star.

How was corrupters not a good idea? They completely stop the pheonix play which he scouted, deter colossus play and he knew that Killer didn't even have a twilight council, so high templar tech was miles away.

Twilight > Templar > Storm etc...
