Surprisingly (or probably not surprisingly) neither Tastless nor Artosis caught on that. Why? Because they were too busy talking how shitty a player Liveforever was. Their (especially Artosis') commentary is becoming more and more arrogant, and doesn't let viewers to get involved and excited because his "know-it-all" attitude. And after the game ended Artosis still harped on how Leenock was probably preparing against a strat from a "TOP-TOP" player, oblivious to the factory cancel by Liveforever.
Now, I don't believe Liveforever is a better player than Leenock, but he won fair and square. There isn't even a cheese or anything, but some low-level mind trick (which Leenock unfortunately bought) and timing attack. As long as there is no scv's/bunkers/cannons involved I don't consider a strat cheese, so his strat was valid and well executed.
Thank goodness we are now getting new commentators in code A and it looks like code A games might even be higher quality than code S ones, and these commentators will have to compete to please the viewers. I for one am not happy with the condescending tone Tastosis spew out to players who tries to win. (Before anyone says "But Artosis can have an opinion!", I'm not talking about his opinions, but his attitude and near ad-hominem comments.)

This got me thinking, maybe LF lost badly on the first game to make Leenock overconfident and underestimate his opponent? maybe I am looking too much into it but I thought the tech deceive was simply brilliant. Though I like Leenock after his game with Clide, I am honestly very impressed with LF's victory.

I've been turned off by Artosis and Tasteless lately because of how one sided the commentary can be. They make it seem like the player they want to win only lost because of the other player getting lucky or somehow trying to undercut their victory by trying to say they didn't deserve it. Having to listen through all the repeated bashing of players last night was incredibly unprofessional, and made for very little enjoyment except for when they were wrong with their repeated "so and so" is so going to win.
Once they get to insulting a player the entire game's commentary is ruined because they aren't taking it seriously, and I agree they missed a lot with all their insults.

You know what, this arrogant attitude might be damaging because if unchecked it goes to far.
Remember how Artosis went on how soft drinks suck and are bad for your health after we got a shot of some guy in the studio downing a bottle of soda that is given freely by GSL sponsor Pepsi? Nothing like free anti-advertisement for the very sponsors that are supporting the show and e-sports.

I for one am glad that Liveforever pulled through.
TBH, no one would think that he has more talent than Leenock (who I'm not very impressed with btw)
However, this is a classic case of getting over-arrogant against somebody else.
And the commentary wasn't helping things either...dissing the poor guy all the way.
Seriously...morphing banelings inside a Terrans base? The moment I saw that, I started rooting for Liveforever the next 2 games.
It's good to see Leenock dropped to Code A....whatever his skill (which I don't really think is Code-S quality to be honest), at least it will hopefully humble him a little and teach him a lesson.
And I just laugh at how many people are crying Terran OP when they didn't even catch the depot/fake factory juke by Liveforever.
No, Liveforever does not belong in Code-S.
But just for the sake of spitting in the collective faces of all the haters, I guess it's worth it for me to eudure some games of him in Code-S next season,

Wooooo sanZenith, so stoked that hes still in Code S. Hilarity.
Sad that Leenock didn't make it though, that was really surprising.

It makes me sad that LiveForever and SanZenith are code S while much better players like Maka, Ret, HuK, and oh so many more are left with an uphill battle to take that spot.

SanZenith qualified for all three GSL opens, so he had to go at least 4-0 (plus byes) in the preliminary stages, which is still impressive. LiveForever is a one-hit wonder, yeah, but at least he showed a bit of humility. Leenock doesn't have much of a personality, so I don't mind that he's gone. (plus he knocked out Cliiiiiiiiiide, our favorite terran)
EDIT: Mybad, he didn't qualify for GSL open S3.

This is a competitive tournament, when are they going to give players BALANCED MAPS where both players have an equal chance from the beginning. These close position closer-than-steppes crap needs to stop. Leenock does this great ultra drop, but all byun has to do is make 10 marauders and its GG.
Save us from Blizzard's fail maps GOM!!! I hate having to see a zerg play so well against a standard tank push just to loose cuz he's 10 feet from the terran's natural. These good players deserve to get what they work for. I admit I'm a bit sad for Liveforever taking down Leenock (because Liveforever's groupstage play was terrible), but Byun is actually a beast and is probably at least if not more skilled than Leenock, so no need to blame random junk this time as he's beaten a more impressive list than Leenock has who really only has the "Clide" series under his belt.

Did you guys watch the LifeForever interview? Artosis asks him what his plan was in the first game with that wacky tank/8 marine push and LiveForever responds by saying he has no planned build order for the games and was just winging it. After john translated I thought Artosis’s head was going to explode from pure rage lol

Watching Tastosis is like listening to the weatherman, 90% chance of wrong!

sanzenith was the one who failed a FE against check right?

Ret and especially Maka played terrible and deserved to lose. Huk is yet to be seen though.

Wow, a big upset here. I cant wait to watch these games. I am bummed that leenok didnt advance and will have to see how this happen. GoGo vod time!!

Artosis can only be angry with Leenock here. I don't see any of the Code S zergs play the way Leenock did in those two games he lost, no baneling nest, a handful of zergs and really little awareness of what the opponent is doing. They said LiveForever played like a lower diamond, but Leenock actually felt he needed to go below even that.
Leenock may find qualifying for Code S to be a lot tougher than many here expect.

All the players that advanced to code S are without a doubt WELL DESERVED. Anyone arguing that is just stupid. Having the opposite player doing bad is not luck, its their own fault for not performing well.
Instead of bashing the players that advance, why don't tastetosis criticize the horrible play from the losers? Obviously LiveForever was going for 2 racks aggression w/ scv all-in, or his other only option to win was to go 6+ rax 2 base stim timing. How could Leenock not realise that and build only ****ONE*** spine crawling in his base?
After his overlord scouted and forced the timing attack he had PLENTY of time to throw down 5 or more spine crawlers and mass up on lings (both his baneling and spire were still building)
The greediness of zerg players are always their downfall. Why would you drone up and tech at the same time when the only chance of the other player beating you is a strong 2 base timing?
IMO leenock deserves to be knocked down to code A. The level of play he displayed does NOT justify a spot in code S. He is potential code S material but not with the games he displayed today.
LiveForever has not been impressive, but based on the BO3 we saw, he was the better player. It is as simple as that.
