The Schedule tab isn't enough to give a comprehensive view of the groups and the progression of the tournament. Yup I was checking that list out, it sure looks like they kept both halves fairly segregated, and could have at LEAST stopped double jeopardy until the Round of 4, too bad, hopefully they fix this for next season Ya, it sucks they didn't arrange the ro8 pairings to not have rematches, but at least there will be a foreigner in the ro4. Is it even possible to avoid this if you decide to have group stage following a group stage? Hm.... You have 8 groups AAAA BBBB CCCC DDDD EEEE FFFF GGGG HHHH Two player from each advance to the next 4 groups. 1. ABCD With A and B being the first place winners of AAAA and BBBB, and C and D being the second place winners of CCCC and DDDD 2. ABCD 2nd place A and B, first place C and D 3. EFGH 4. EFGH Same concept as the ABCD groups Then you seed the round of 4 like this. Group 1 1st place versus Group 3 2nd place Group 2 1st place versus group 4 2nd place. But that's some kind of funky seeding, so it's probably not worth it. I tried to make a flowchart of it with my amazing paint skills: ![]() If you have A16 winner v C16 2nd, B16 winner v D16 2nd, C16 winner v B16 2nd, and D16 winner v A16 2nd, I think you can avoid rematches between players then. Wow that is so stupid, whyare to two halves completely seperate?? Players playing each other again from the ro32 doesn't make sense. EPIC FAIL GOM

Just sayin. Lol, we are clearly not visiting the same forums then if you think that is ban-worthy on most forums. In fact I have a hard time thinking of one that would outright ban someone for that. It is clearly stated in most of the forums that insult to religion is forbidden (in any form). You probably think what you think because you don't care. But some people do. It's pretty sad the way things worked out that they had to play each other twice and MKP and MC never played and we also didn't get to see Jinro vs Rainbow.

Conversation about what is forbidden and what not started many pages before. I'm actually trying to find TL regulations to check just out of curiosity what is stated there. On a side note, Live reports contain loads of shit to be honest. I've seen many and all I can tell you is that 20% of any of them is not game related at all.

It's underrated by many people, but it's actually quite good against Terran mech. I agree ... If Jinro didn't scout the Fleet Beacon and made a ton of Vikings in time .. I doubt the Mech Push would have been as devastating as it was. I'm not saying MC would have won outright but in the game on Scrap Station ... the Carriers didn't even get a chance to fight. MC was in the Phase of building an army when Jinro pushed ( together with Vikings ) and this obviously won the game. And if it were any other Protoss I doubt they would have counter attacked and made a new base at the Gold. Just wanted to put this out their to the people making fun of MC going Carriers. They do well against Mech Terran without vikings and even when there are vikings but are low in number. mm, I actually think it was a decent response. If that banshee had been denied seeing the fleet beacon(and he hadn't scanned), I'm not sure if jinro would've actually taken that game, it'd have in the least been a lot closer. It really felt though like jinro just had a lot better macro, I mean he had so much stuff, like 15 or so vikings, 7+ tanks, 4+ thors mixed with rines and hellions. MC had 5 or so carriers, 5-7 phoenixes, like 2 immos, and couple of gateway units(this might not be exact, but felt like around those numbers when watching it). Add onto it that all the phoenixes died within the first 5 sec of the battle... Dunno wondering if he had some resources in the bank, since they were on similar worker count...

I agree, and I also think the groupplay in RO16 should BO3s instead. The entire system is a bit of imo, just for a moment pretend they all where forced to face eachother instead of as it is now, then the result could have been very different. after 2 games each Marineking 2-0 Jinro 1-1 MC 1-1 Rainbow 0-2 then now the matchups would be Jinro vs Rainbow and MC vs Marineking. This could very well have had Jinro and MC as winners thus giving this table Marineking 2-1 Jinro 2-1 MC 2-1 Rainbow 0-3 with marineking jinro and MC all beating each other forcing another groupplay or something ot the sort. It just doesnt fit that you call it a "group" and then who you meet first can have such a huge play on the results.

There's huge difference between something being listed in the rules, and the rules actually being enforced. So while you may be correct that there is often a rule handling such things, the actual enforcement of such rules is usually incredibly lax.
