Look at north korea and try to blame them afterwards.

ummm, a full round robin with 7 players equals 21 games. thats quite a lot for one single day.

This^. Since it essentially removed Artosis, Cella and TorcH from the running of Code A

I was most sad about Artosis. I hope he sticks with it and tries to make Code A and then eventually Code S.

well, 18 actually, but if you take into account that there'll be some 2-0's and many games might be quick, it's still long but not that bad

why only 18? 7 over 2 is 21. or without much mathematical background:

for the first player, there are 6 opponents
for the second player, there are 5 opponents he hasnt played yet
for the third, theres 4...

6+5+4+3+2+1 = 21.

What about players like HuK? What does he have to break into GSL tournaments?

Ret will crush this group so hard that they'll give him Code S, a million dollars, and an apology for making him go through this mess.

From what I understand he has to be highly ranked on ladder so that he can qualify to play against the bottom half the A-class in a qualifier to the next GSL, where depending on results he could secure A-class for himself or even S-class.

It is 18 because each person plays their opponent. With a group of 7 you only have 6 opponents thus 6 matches. 3 X 6 =18 matches total.

Actually if there are Bo3s it's 42-63 matches total per group of 7.

No, the ladder is for a completely different tournament

Only 32 guaranteed spots for Code A. 32 spots will be open through qualifiers.

I'm still confused. If I remember correctly, Code A will have 64 players. According to the calendar, the 2011 GSL A-Class Season 1 will be held on 01/03/2011. So when will the last opened 32 spots be determined? Seems not possible during the rest of this month.

I'd assume GOM will just run offline qualifiers for the 32 non-guaranteed spots.

^ This

Qualifiers for previous GSL took place over 2 days just prior to the tournament.

Maybe I can help this discussion out a bit. (I could be wrong though)

After Code S and Code A's, for people who wish to join the GSL but did not make it to at least CODE A... Then I think(Hence the I THINK, please don't flame), if players wish to enter the GSL they must ladder on the Korean server and be in the top 10? 12? something like that.

Following the end of a GSL tournament, players that are in the bottom 8 of CODE S will play the top 8 of CODE A's and the bottom of CODE A will play the top ranking ladder players.
