Females are looking for a place where they can play together, just like there are tournaments for Dutch, Germans, Swedes and whatnot that others can't join. Except for the part where you notice the bad behaviour of half of the gaming community. That said, I think if you PM'd the ESL administrators, they would likely allow a transgender person to enter. If they didn't, it would be completely against the point of the tournament. If you choose (or are forced) to live out your life as a female, you should be able to be part of the female community.

I think they were just being cutesy with their wording and I'd be pretty furious if they didn't allow you to join.
