Your post makes no sense at all... you complain they are charging people who wants to watch it? You cant charge people who dont want to watch it. o.O And global star league got nothing to do with viewers but people who can participate in it.

I think his point is, why charge your small fan base when it is steadily growing? It would make sense to charge in Korea, but as Ordained said, they aren't interested. So why would you start charging the small foreign fan base when it obviously will hinder their viewership?

Even if there was a free live stream I wouldn't watch it because it's at 3 AM for me!

Touche, but what I meant is that it is hilarious that they are forcing this down Korea's throat by not allowing Proleague to broadcast at the same time. It is free for the people who do not want to watch it. Meanwhile, every other country in the world has to pay. Gom is trying to win people over from Broodwar but they are charging for it. The $1 broadcasting deal they signed with Blizzard is really going to their heads.

Yes, this fee is kind of ridiculous, but at the same time they need to fund this "foreign" side of their venture somehow, and it looks like they're trying to accomodate us anyway. As for the "people who don't want to watch it," they do want to watch it. They just aren't being charged because of how mainstream and stable competitive gaming is in Korea -- it's got huge advertisers and is on two network TV stations devoted to gaming -- they don't have to charge. It's a lot smaller an audience with "foreigners," and they don't have the same corporate backing on that side of the project is my guess.

There is a Forum at www.gomtv.net if you press league on the menu I would have posted on your forums, except I don't trust it will help anything. You are the ones expanding into a new market and you should respect the community and opinions of the veterans there. Or you can ignore the advice of those that want the best for the game and just go with whaetever your market analysts tell you.
