I would hate to see their flawed business model be the downfall of SC2 as an E-sport in Korea. The only way to promote change is to allow your voice to be heard, and the best way to do that is to post on their forums. The more they realize how few people are actually willing to pay for the stream, the more likely they will be to change their fee-based strategy. And trust me, you posting on their forums is not going to magically erase their debt. haha did you just call me an oxymoron? Anyways, as for posting on their forums... one has to ask, if our voices aren't being heard, why would they post on our site to go post on their site? I'm sure it's more like they hear our voices either way, they just want the site hits and the ability to moderate their way.

If Blizzard was a standard company and didnt make WoW then I would definitly agree paying $ every month for GSL. Because we pay to watch our favourite players battle it out. We pay the prize pool but in return they give us fun and we can only be happy to see them win money.

Sigh, i was really really looking forward to these tournaments. _______________________________________________________________________________ This post is just a drop in the bucket i am sure, but i felt the need to add my feelings on horrid pricing decision you have made. 50 dollars for a live stream and TEMPORARY vods is simply insulting to the vast majority of your potential audience. I am wholly sympathetic to the fact that bandwidth cost as well as infrastructure required to broadcast this event world wide is formidable, but you have set the price point for this one tournament higher then what many people pay for months of cable TV and similar services. Add on to this that the last GOMtv invitational stream had many issues with lag, and as such we are paying for an unproven and untested stream with NO guarantee of quality. Add on top of all this that the 50$ is not a subscription to all of the open tournaments of 2010 and you expect your customer base to pay $150 for 3 tournaments over the course of 5 months? Simply put this is not an insignificant amount to pay for a stream with only 500kbs (hardly HD by many standards) and temporary access to VODS. I for one can not justify this outrageous expense. I was one of many who waited for the GSL with high hopes, a chance to truly showcase E-sports on a global level with the level of professional commentary in both Korean and English that we loved during the GOMtv invitational. But as it stands my only option seems to be watching the OGN stream of the GSL which is ironically free of charge, and higher bitrate then the astronomically priced premium stream in English. In conclusion GOMTV, you have lost a customer who would have been perfectly willing to pay a reasonable amount for a quality product. I am not by any means the only one who feels this way, the myriad posts mirroring my sentiments on these forums should be ample example. Regertfully, A loyal E-sports fan.

Why would they want to reply to all the threads that are 100% identical? It is better to come out with some official thread about the whole deal than just going and replying to the same shit over and over. Just an indication of them actually being interested in the feedback they're getting on the forum where he specifically pointed us to would be nice. About the time, in Korea the work days begin later than elsewhere? On September 02 2010 09:16 Prom_STar wrote: Lots of speed tests in this thread and it's making me realize something. I am insanely jealous of all the Scandinavians on here. 100 Mbps up and down? I pay $75 a month for 15/3. ![]() Way back when, Sweden spent a lot of time and resources on improving their internet networks, while Finland just let the "competition" develop itself. Now we're stuck with 100/10s only in the major cities and even something like 8/2 is huge elsewhere, whereas Sweden has 200/100s in the mountain regions. Fuuuu

It's not inconceivable that 1-2 GOM employees are assigned to image maintenance on sites other than GOM and not one other person at the company would ever read TL. In fact, given what we've seen, that seems to be the case.
