the difference between you Fayth and the general SC2 player, it's that they didn't play poker and made thousands and thousands of money out of it. 100$ is a lot for any teenagers/college students which is most of the sc2 community.

isnt that kinda risky for a product like this? 30 days should be more than enough to go through the whole thing and just give it back Almost every product these days has this, and more so, many promise 90day no questions asked money back. Thing is, most people wont ask for this, even though they did not like the product that much.
Having a policy that allows unhappy customers to regain their money is the staple of any good company. Regaurdless of whether or not people use the policy its existence alone is proof of moral dealings.
As a store owner I will tell you that having a 30 day no questions asked return policy is heartbreaking to maintain. Esp after you get abused by a couple people back to back.
Right on EG, I hope you get to be the face of the sc2 strategy guide scene. Incontrols level of articulation alone make any guide usefull to people up to a certain level. And jake is very attractive.

Doesnt LZ's stream almost die with lag post 1000 viewers?

Haha, from what I can tell, most of the TL community is composed of college students. We have real things to pay for and are generally broke. Teenagers can borrow money from mom and dad. :D

This is definitely going to be epic. Have you guys considered doing a reverse race bo5 between Idra (or even Artosis) vs a top Terran player (Morrow/DeMuslim/etc)? I think that would be a lot of fun as well.

The market for poker guides and software is different, they are primarily aimed as supplements to make winning players more effective players. I realize that you don't need to be told that
But no beginner who plays micro stakes is going to buy that $2500 guide nor would any experienced poker player recommend it to them. They'd tell them to pick up whatever is the hottest book by some seasoned pro like Barry Greenstein for 8 bucks at Chapters.
If the $100 guide was for diamond level players to turn them into tournament level players, that would be different entirely. But it's not, and if it was, my criticism would be even more relevant, who are Inc and Machine to tell people how to win tournaments in Starcraft 2?
This thread is gonna get shit up really fast I think over this, and for that I apologize in advance. I'll just say that when people start treating the community as potential customers and are trying to sell us things, that I feel entitled to treat them not as community members but as sales people. I think the general tenets of supporting the community and the endeavors of its members go out the window and you treat them as you would any other small business or would be entrepreneur. If I think it's a sour deal I won't pretend otherwise.

Just look at it as a good showmatch then, at least they're making an attempt to contribute back to the community.

that's kind of ignoring that they are giving u showmatches like this one.. for free (technically it's costing them $200)
I think skipping over a paragraph if you don't want to read it is a small price to pay for a bo7 showmatch betwen 2 great players

It's a bit like the Supercup of SC2. This gonna be a clash of the titans!

How is buying their guide an investment? Reading it won't magically turn you into a tournament winning player.
They can charge whatever price they think is fair, but to call it an investment makes no sense.

No one says it will turn you into a tournament winning player, but it will probably turn you in a better player, hence the usage of investement is correct.

Awesome, can't wait.
Side note...has anyone purchased the Gosuguide and can recommend it? I am always looking for little things to push my SC2 play, but the 100$ price tag is making me hesitant to pull the trigger.
Really hard to convince myself to purchase something that is twice as much as the game when I will be going from a decent diamond player, to above average diamond player? I bet if the guide was around 50$ a ton more people would be willing to pay, it would make it much more casual friendly. Which seems as if it would be the biggest market, people who are in silver / gold really want to get better and a really good guide is just what they need. But these people are the ones who look at 100$ as "Hum I could go buy another xbox game..." Just my opinion...who knows maybe your selling them like crazy.

Is this showmatch taking the place of the gosucoaching weekly this week? =\
Regardless, gl huk/morrow, hoping for some good long games

mom and dad would've kicked my ass if asked them for 100$ to buy some video game guide

"Who will be casting? - This match will be casted by myself, iNcontroL and LzGameR on behalf of my strategy guide: The Gosuguide." Who is the "myself" in this sentence? There is three casters?
