If for some reason your player plays a few seconds of sound and then quits, it is probably because the octoshape plugin passes -nocache to mplayer which is retarded, so just go mplayer 'the above url' that you found, and that gets you a perfect stream that worked all night for me.
Thanks for this post. It definitely clears up some of technical questions that I had with streaming issues through VLC yesterday (HD stream and the regular one). Do you know of a way to stream to a non-browser player while actually caching the stream (so as to watch it later)? I've got plenty of HDD space, bandwidth and computing power, that's no issue ;-)

VODs take a few days for us to process when we come back from the event, and tbh, we're all basically sleeping on Monday when we get back, so look for the championship VODs up first, with the rest to follow over the course of a little bit.
Replays will hopefully be up after a bit as well for the entire tournament, but that's going to be quite a few for us to collect and catalog.
Please keep the feedback coming as well. I'm peeking in here now and again, but will be reading up when I get home. (jus a little bit busy right now).
Thanks,

The caster duos and interviews are great and seeing the players' faces while playing is a great feature. However, please look into the problem with the entire gamescreen not fitting on the stream window. There's about an inch off both sides, making you unable to see the entire minimap and the full unit supply counter. I'm sure it's a relatively simple fix, so it'd be great for the optimal viewing experience.
I am totally rooting for both of the Zergs in this tournament, and also hoping that some of the Terrans drop off fast. We really don't need TvTvTvT semis or something like that... although in Starcraft II, TvT is by far my favorite mirror matchup. Even so, mirrors are just bleh in general.
I took 70+ pictures and about 25 videos on Friday and tried to get some stuff uploaded overnight. Unfortunately, hotel wireless is pretty terrible and nothing managed to finish. It looks like most of my stuff won't get online until Monday. I'm writing this on my stupid phone.

Thanks for the feedback! That's a 16:10 aspect ratio problem where the player doesn't scale correctly for some reason. Dev team has it, should be fixed for the next event.
