So fine him (give him a slap on the wrist, make a public statement about "we will not tolerate BM") but how often do you see A-Rod (Top American baseball player for those unaware.) get kicked out for swearing?

Well, People are saying that the second 2 points came after the fact. Is this true? what were they for? And did you take into account that your organization also acted unprofessionally, and should take that into consideration?

Why is this getting blown out of proportion? Idra rages, admins make mistakes. Im going to be honest i love Idra's bm for the sake of comedy but i don't agree with it. And lets face it that's what makes him so popular besides his undeniable skill. When it comes down to it they are playing a game professionally. People play football professionally and there is bad manners, trash talk and lets not forget the coaches cussing out the refs for a shitty call. Do coaches get banned? No. So whether you guys think that Idra should be banned or the admins are "unjust", it's only for 7 days and Idra will be back. In my opinion i think esl is either brilliant for making this decision to gain more popularity or very moronic for banning possibly the best StarCraft 2 player in the world.

You're still ignoring the fact that all of this happened after you messed up with StrifeCro and Jobless.

Sorry for bother you guys and thank you if you answer this question!
look a few pages back to get the whole story, there is a chat log of what happened.
Summary:
StrifeCro reported a win because Jobless didn't show Jobless says StrifeCro didn't respond to him trying to contact him
Regardless of what actually happened, ESL management didn't catch this till IdrA had won all his matches and was moving on to the Semi's.
After the fact, they realized there was a problem and that IdrA would have to replay his matches. IdrA had already disconnected and gone to lunch at that point so getting in contact with him was difficult.
IdrA, pissed off that he had to play another set of matches since he already won, spewed some insults towards the lack of organization of the tournament and those running it.
ESL got butt hurt and retroactively added penalty points (putting him up to 4) for BM behavior and banned him for for the season (initially) and then changed it to a week ban.
Basically, ESL was stupid.

Read the whole thread and I have to say: ESL seems very incompetent with their disorganization and unprofessional decisions.

I think its more of the fact that two "yellow cards" appeared from nowhere unjustly, not that he WAS banned.
If anything, this will just make IdrA more popular, and the ESL...well...>_>

people explain each of the 2 violations individually, because they last thing everyone remembers is the 2 points for not letting bigT cast. and thats all the points their were.

Now is when you EXPLAIN PROFESSIONALLY how these points were warranted, giving specific details of when each set of points was set in place.

Yes I been reading to the thread but I dont know if IdrA lost because of his penalty point (disqualify) or he just lost his game?
Idra won all his games, however after his games were over, when he was contacted about the mistake that the admins made regarding someone messing up the brackets, it affected the rest of the games down the line including Idra's. When they contacted him about it he said he would play in an hour, I assume when he got back he was told he was banned etc, their reasoning for the ban was he has 4 penalty points, 2 of which he got in the very beginning for not letting the caster stream, and 2 of which appeared out of nowhere.
edit: also people have to remember IEM, and ESL, and National ESL are different branches or something of ESL or whatever.

My guess is A-Rod doesnt personally insult the umpire, thus does not deserve a kick, A-Rod also has a great coaching staff behind him which does a lot of the coercing for him, I dont watch baseball often, but ive seen people get kicked for swearing into the air, hell Tim Duncan got ejected for laughing in an NBA game.

Whats the point of watching if the best zerg isn't there. This whole thing is FUBAR but I see no reason that a player should be punished for not wanting an abusive caster cover their games. Punishing IdrA because he doesn't want to deal with playing a bunch of laggy games due to poor administration is unacceptable. ESL get your act together or just stop trying to cover SC2, you are only losing fan support.

To be fair, the first 2 points were kind-of deserved. He didn't let the caster in, that's understandable that he gets penalized. HOWEVER, when the Ref picks up a random yellow leaf and goes "HURR, SECOND YELLOW CARD UR BANNED!" and can't explain for what, that's when it gets out of hand.

one can't make this clear enough: in the biggest and most loved sport on this planet, which is football (some may call it soccer ) they know that the players are passionate about the game and the refs include that factor in their decisionmaking. some little raging like idra did probably wouldn't even get noticed. especially in a case like this when he was angry at them for fucking up
|
ESL's talking out of their asses. Idra got 2 from not wanting BigT to cast his match. That's fine
But then they decided to add two on more for "Unsportsmanlike conduct throughout the cup ingame against players and casters and against esl on forums, no intent to continue playing the cup"
Which is total bullshit considering all he did was call ESL out for being a dishonest organization(not paying out money) and telling people to watch Chill's stream, considering BigT is a terrible caster.
Ironically, the two were added on because ESL screwed up thanks to their extremely unprofessional organization of the tournament and tried to make IdrA replay his matches and wouldn't let him do it 1 hour later even though he had a scheduled time to eat. So, rather than do this, they decide to insult IdrA on the forums and ban him for no reason.
and rather than actually respond to IdrAs posts, they repeat the same bullshit with no actual reasoning
|
Are there any Vods up where those who missed it can see BigT's casting of Idra's game?
I want to see this berating for myself.
