actually, no, both are on pretty much the same level cocerning game knowledge, which is not very high, but to answer the question they have so many subscribers because they are pleasent to listen to cuz they speak fluently, make some jokes, have a good setup, pleasent voice and are very active. You don t need to know that much about the game to make it entertaining for most of the viewers. They are making commentaries, not educational VODs, so as long as they have some clue what they are talking about and have the skills listed above, they are good to go.
Yes, i facepalm often when they say sg obviosuly stupid, but i still watch almost every one of teir casts, cuz they are bringing good games in english

The main reason HD starcraft got so many subscribers is because of this brilliant name, each time you search for a HD starcraft movie one of his moves will show up first do to his channel name (even before he became youtube partner), and since him and husky work together they got almost the same subcribers.

The problem most likely is that GomTV has the broadcasting rights at least in Korea and a lot of Korean Players have been invited to play in this tournament.

HD/husky/heostat/anyone in the know... update??? My guess blizz is being lame and wont give apporval with gom running because blizz doesnt want them to steal viewers

This is probably largely true. After watching multiple horrible quality SC2 videos as a complete nooby when the beta came out, I searched "HD Starcraft 2" and sure enough, found HD. Clever name, and I am sure it has played a large part in helping both HD and Husky become as big as they have. Kudos to HD for that, whether it was accidental or not

This has just become a huge dissapointment, no updates forever, and still says "We will be making the official announcement for HDH2 tomorrow!"

That form usually gives you instant approval without any interaction with a human being. Having a lot of players, charging entry/viewing fees, being on-site, or having a huge prize pool all send out for someone to take a look at it before approval is dished out.

I'm pretty sure it's more likely that the players involved in the HDH2 are currently involved in bigger tournaments (GSL maybe?) and there are real world events going on, such as PAX. I'd guess they've had Blizzard approval for a while, just no reason to post an update.

No I filled that out before without any of those things and it needs approval. Its not automated in any way shape or form really. It's just different than when yous sent a random email out.

I just filled out the form for a 16 player tournament with no prize pool available only on the NA region and the next page approved me.

I ask to add Trump, Not only does he have a large following that will bring in even more watchers, He is a very good player. Sure there are many big named players that are favored, but I ask to consider him to be added for many reasons that would make a legendary tourney just a bit more godly.

While I understand that many other players are not available in the immediate week or even month given things like the GSL, could HD or Husky at least give an update to inform everyone of the expected delay...? As everyone's noticed, it has been two weeks..
